Job Summary/Objective:

We are seeking a Senior Duck Creek Policy Developer with 5–9 years of experience in insurance technology, specializing in Duck Creek PolicyCenter configuration, integration, and product development. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience with Duck Creek Authoring tools, Product Studio, Manuscript structures, and custom component development using C# and XML. You will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable solutions, supporting cloud upgrades (DCOD), and integrating with APIs and external systems.

A strong understanding of P&C insurance, especially in underwriting, rating, forms, and regulatory requirements, is critical. This role requires hands-on expertise in tools such as Express 3 Page Builder, ExampleUtil, Data Insight, and SQL Server, as well as the ability to work in Agile teams and mentor junior developers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and contribute to large-scale Duck Creek Policy transformation projects, ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with client requirements.

• Design and implement solutions using Duck Creek Author and Product Studio, translating business requirements into efficient Manuscript inheritance structures and reusable components.

• Develop and customize Duck Creek Policy components including Pages, Forms, Tables, Rating, and Batch Processing using Example Author and Express Page Builder (Express 3).

• Utilize Duck Creek debugging and development tools (Trace Monitor, Example Util, Data Tester) for issue diagnosis and resolution.

• Create and configure custom integrations using C#, XML, XSLT, and integrate with external systems using Anywhere API and Managed Integrations.

• Build and maintain custom Insight Extract Maps, support Data Hub integrations, and generate accurate reporting.

• Develop and maintain SQL Server artifacts like stored procedures, triggers, functions, and cursors; apply XQuery for complex data manipulation.

• Ensure solutions conform to DCOD (Duck Creek OnDemand) Cumulus design standards, perform cloud upgrade analysis, and remediate gaps.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, testers, and product owners in an Agile environment.

• Mentor and guide junior developers on Duck Creek architecture, best practices, and coding standards.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and business requirements for Commercial and Specialty Lines of Business, with a strong grasp of underwriting, rating, and insurance rules.

• Participate in all phases of the SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience working as Product Developer/Senior Product Developer in large-scale Duck Creek transformation programs.

• Over 3 years of hands-on development experience in Duck Creek Policy Center including configuration and integration.

• Proficient in Duck Creek Toolsets including Author and Product Studio to manage policy configuration and component design.

• Strong understanding and implementation of Duck Creek Manuscript components, including inheritance structure design for scalable product development.

• Experienced with Duck Creek Example Author (Pages, Forms, Tables), Express 3 Page Builder, and debugging tools such as Trace Monitor, TSV Example Util, and Data Tester.

• Developed and integrated custom components using C# for Duck Creek Policy applications.

• Created and configured Insight Extract Maps, performing custom data mapping and reporting using Duck Creek Data Insight.

• Hands-on experience with XML and similar programming languages for configuration and integration tasks.

• Worked with multiple Duck Creek product versions (4.x to 7.x including OnDemand).

• Developed and optimized SQL Server components such as stored procedures, triggers, functions, cursors, and XQuery for backend operations.

• Performed cloud upgrade analysis and remediation aligned with DCOD Cumulus Design Standards.

• Deep understanding of full Duck Creek suite implementation including Policy, Billing, and Claims.

• Mentored and supported team members in understanding Duck Creek tools, architecture, and development processes.

• Participated in Agile delivery model, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and continuous integration.

• Applied strong P&C insurance domain knowledge including underwriting, rating, rules, and form management for Commercial and Specialty Lines.

• Experienced in working with Duck Creek components like EXAMPLE Author, Server, Express, Forms, Rating, Batch Processing, Task & Notification, and Transact.

• Familiar with theme customization and DCOD cloud upgrade techniques.

• Worked on integrations using Anywhere API and Managed Integrations with external systems.
