Job summary

BMW TechWorks India is seeking a Senior DisplayPort Expert & Display Connectivity Architect to lead next-generation automotive display connectivity architectures. Expertise in DisplayPort/eDP, MIPI DSI, display PHY, GPU/Display Controller, SoC architecture, Linux/Android graphics stacks, and high-speed SerDes is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive display connectivity and electronics.
• Strong knowledge of DisplayPort, eDP, MIPI DSI and SerDes.
• Experience with Linux/Android graphics stacks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end display connectivity from SoC to panel.
• Define DisplayPort/eDP technology selection and roadmap.
• Develop migration strategies to ASA-based connectivity.
• Collaborate with vendors such as NXP, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, MediaTek.
• Analyze and troubleshoot DisplayPort/eDP, ASA-PHY, MST, DSC, HDCP.
• Lead debugging across GPU, Display Controller, and Linux display stack.
• Define validation strategies for multi-display topologies.
• Support hardware/software bring-up and issue resolution.
• Work with ECU architects, display suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Job Summary

BMW TechWorks India is looking for a Senior DisplayPort Expert & Display Connectivity Architect to lead the integration of next-generation automotive display connectivity architectures.

The role requires strong expertise in DisplayPort/eDP, MIPI DSI, Display PHY, GPU/Display Controller, SoC architecture, Linux/Android graphics stack, graphics drivers, and high-speed SerDes technologies. The candidate will work closely with semiconductor vendors, display suppliers, ECU architects, hardware teams, and software teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end display connectivity from SoC/GPU to display panel.
• Define and drive DisplayPort/eDP technology selection, performance analysis, and roadmap.
• Develop migration strategies from proprietary display links to ASA-based display connectivity.
• Collaborate with semiconductor vendors such as NXP, Microchip, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, MediaTek, etc.
• Analyze and troubleshoot:
  • DisplayPort / eDP
  • ASA-PHY
  • Link Training
  • Multi-Stream Transport (MST)
  • Display Stream Compression (DSC)
  • Display Timing & Synchronization
  • HDCP
• Lead debugging across GPU, Display Controller, DisplayPort, ASA Serializer/Deserializer, Linux/Android display stack, and display drivers.
• Define validation strategies for multi-display systems, P2P and daisy-chain topologies.
• Support hardware/software bring-up, integration, validation, and issue resolution.
• Work closely with ECU architects, display suppliers, semiconductor vendors, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Required Skills

• 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in Display Connectivity / Display Systems / Automotive Electronics.
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
  • DisplayPort
  • Embedded DisplayPort (eDP)
  • MIPI DSI
  • Display PHY
• Strong understanding of GPU, Display Controller, SoC architecture, and graphics pipelines.
• Experience with Linux and/or Android graphics/display subsystems.
• Experience in display IP, silicon integration, SoC architecture, or PHY development.
• Strong knowledge of High-Speed Serial Interfaces and SerDes technologies.
• Hands-on experience with protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, and hardware-level debugging.

Good to Have

• Automotive display architecture experience.
• Experience with ASA Motion Link (ASA-ML).
• Experience with automotive SerDes technologies such as GMSL, FPD-Link, APIX.
• Experience with HUD, curved displays, pillar-to-pillar displays, and multi-display systems.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 / Functional Safety.
• Knowledge of Automotive Cybersecurity.
• Experience working with automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, semiconductor vendors, or display suppliers.
