Job summary

Barclays seeks a Senior DFIR Analyst based in Pune to lead the evolution of security infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence across the bank's digital solutions.

You will apply digital forensic principles, analyze and respond to cyber security incidents in a large enterprise, and interpret logs and artefacts from multiple controls to protect critical data and systems.

Qualifications

  • Ability to apply digital forensic principles relating to evidence collection, preservation, and analysis.
  • Experience analysing and responding to cyber security incidents within large enterprise environments.
  • Practical incident response skills, including interpreting logs, alerts and artefacts from multiple security controls.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Linux and Mac OS and the ability to interpret system artefacts during investigations.
  • Certifications aligned to team standards are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage security monitoring systems, including intrusion prevention and detection, to alert, detect and block incidents and provide prompt response to restore operations.
  • Identify emerging cyber security threats, attack techniques and technologies to detect/prevent incidents and share industry knowledge.
  • Manage and analyse security information and event management systems to collect, correlate and analyse logs, events and alerts.
  • Triage data loss prevention alerts to identify and prevent sensitive data exfiltration from Barclays network.
  • Manage cyber security incidents including remediation and closure.

Join us as a Senior DFIR Analyst at Barclays, where you will spearhead the evolution of your infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting‑edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

To be successful as a Senior DFIR Analyst, you should have experience with:

  • Ability to apply digital forensic principles relating to evidence collection, preservation, and analysis.
  • Proven ability to analyse and respond to cyber security incidents within a large and complex enterprise environment.
  • Practical incident response skills, including the ability to interpret logs, alerts, and artefacts from multiple security controls.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux and Mac) and the ability to interpret system‑level artefacts during investigations.
Some Other Highly Valued Skills May Include
  • Exposure to network analysis concepts, including packet capture, traffic analysis, and common attack behaviours.
  • Understanding of common malware types (e.g., ransomware, trojans) and basic malware analysis concepts.
  • Awareness of cloud security principles and common cloud logging sources.
  • Familiarity with intelligence‑driven defence concepts, attacker kill‑chains, or threat‑led investigation approaches.
  • Experience using open‑source investigation or intelligence enrichment tools.
  • Ability to follow, maintain, and contribute to Work Instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Familiarity with endpoint detection and response tools and the analysis of endpoint‑level security telemetry.
  • Entry‑level or practitioner security certifications are desirable (aligned to team standards).

The role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To monitor the performance of operational controls, implement and manage security controls and consider lessons learnt in order to protect the bank from potential cyber‑attacks and respond to threats.

Accountabilities
  • Management of security monitoring systems, including intrusive prevention and detection systems, to alert, detect and block potential cyber security incidents, and provide a prompt response to restore normal operations with minimised system damage.
  • Identification of emerging cyber security threats, attack techniques and technologies to detect/prevent incidents, and collaborate with networks and conferences to gain industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Management and analysis of security information and event management systems to collect, correlate and analyse security logs, events and alerts/potential threats.
  • Triage of data loss prevention alerts to identify and prevent sensitive data for being exfiltrated from the banks network.
  • Management of cyber security incidents including remediation & driving to closure.
