Job summary

Barclays in Pune is seeking a Security Engineer to drive the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, building scalable, secure solutions for delivering digital services.

You will work with global teams, own security engineering across multiple domains, and provide Level 3 expertise to delivery leads while documenting services for internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundational knowledge across at least one core security domain (VM, Endpoint, Data Security, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of data storage technologies (NetApp, Isilon/Power Scale) and data security scanning tools.
  • Knowledge of security network architectures (Firewalls, DMZ, proxies, DNS, web/mail servers) and networking principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on security systems and engineering patterns.
  • Develop and implement security protocols, algorithms, and software to protect data and systems.
  • Manage and protect secrets, ensuring secure generation, storage and usage.
  • Conduct audits to monitor vulnerabilities and support incident response.
  • Identify advances for cryptographic tech and adopt new cryptographic approaches.
  • Collaborate with developers and security teams to align cryptographic solutions with policies.
  • Develop and maintain Identity and Access Management solutions.

Join us as a Security Engineer at Barclays, where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

To be successful as a Security Engineer,you should have experience with:

  • Strong foundational knowledge of at least one core security domain (VM, Endpoint, Data Security, etc.).
  • Strong foundation knowledge of data storage technologies (NetApp, Isilon/Power Scale) and integration with data security scanning tools.
  • Strong knowledge of security network architectures e.g. Firewalls, DMZ, proxies, DNS, web and mail servers, and the principles of networking.
  • Career proven history of supporting and being in lead roles of security services at enterprise scale preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Enthusiastic about security, open to learning, and to dynamically adapting to Information Security technologies as business requirements change.
  • Ownership of engineering of technical solutions across security domains, collaborating closely with security engineers and global infrastructure teams.
  • Create and maintain accurate and high-quality documentation for the service as it is consumed by variety of internal service teams.
  • Work closely with on-shore and off-shore teams to enhance/upgrade/uplift existing services and provide Level 3 engineering expertise collaborating with delivery leads on resource planning and management.
  • Develop and deploy solutions to address key SecOps business requirements and design suitable solutions, challenging requirements where necessary.

Purpose of the role

To develop, implement and maintain solutions that support the safeguarding of the banks systems and sensitive information.

Accountabilities
  • Provision of subject matter expertise on security systems and engineering patterns.
  • Development and implementation of protocols, algorithms, and software applications to protect sensitive data and systems.
  • Management and protection of secrets, ensuring that they are securely generated, stored, and used.
  • Execution of audits to monitor, identify and assess vulnerabilities in the banks infrastructure/software and support the response to potential security breaches.
  • Identification of advancements in to support the innovation and adoption of new cryptographic technologies and techniques.
  • Collaboration across the bank, including developers and security teams, to ensure that cryptographic solutions align with business objectives, security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Development/ Implementation and maintenance of Identity and Access Management solutions and systems.
