Job summary

Sonata Software is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to ensure platform availability, scalability, and security across production environments in Hyderabad. You will drive incident management, RCA, and post-mortems while building robust infrastructure as code using Terraform or AWS CDK.

You will optimize AWS resources, implement automation for self-healing, and integrate observability with Datadog, PagerDuty, and CI/CD tooling. Strong Linux, Python, and networking knowledge required.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure platform availability, reliability, scalability, security, and performance across production environments.
• Drive incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), post-mortems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK).
• Develop automation and self-healing capabilities to reduce operational overhead
• Implement and maintain observability solutions including monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support and lead critical incident resolution.
• Optimize AWS infrastructure for performance, resilience, and cost efficiency using FinOps best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience managing highly available, distributed systems and cloud-native services.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, solution architecture, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices.
• AWS Professional Certification is desirable.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes (preferably EKS), Docker, and container orchestration.
• Experience with Terraform AWS CDK.
• Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog).
• Experience with incident management tools such as PagerDuty.
• Strong Linux administration, shell scripting, and troubleshooting skills.
• Programming/scripting experience in Python, Bash
• Good understanding of networking, IAM, cloud security, secrets management, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Route53, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS, and SQS.
