The Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure) is a senior technical contributor responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and operational processes across the organization. This role serves as a subject matter expert for Azure DevOps practices, provides technical leadership to the engineering team, and partners closely with Development, QA, Architecture, and Delivery teams to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient software delivery.
The Senior Engineer works under the guidance of the Azure DevOps Team Lead and plays a key role in driving automation, cloud modernization, platform reliability, security, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab, Azure DevOps, and related tooling.
Automate build, test, deployment, and release management processes.
Improve deployment reliability, speed, traceability, and consistency across environments.
Implement pipeline standards, reusable templates, and deployment best practices.
Build, configure, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
Develop and maintain Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for automated provisioning.
Support Azure services including App Services, AKS, Functions, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, Networking, and Monitoring solutions.
Ensure cloud environments are scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-effective.
Design and configure secure ingress and egress solutions using NAT Gateway, Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, Application Gateway, Web Application Firewall, and load-balancing services.
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex network connectivity, routing, DNS, firewall, TLS, proxy, ingress, and application-access issues.
Drive improvements in cloud scalability, availability, security, observability, governance, and cost optimization.
Design and support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
Implement and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
Improve container deployment, scaling, monitoring, and operational reliability.
Develop deployment patterns and operational standards for container-based applications.
Monitor production and non-production environments and proactively address operational issues.
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation planning.
Implement observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and related tools.
Drive platform stability, performance optimization, and system availability initiatives.
Implement DevSecOps practices within deployment pipelines and cloud environments.
Manage secrets, certificates, service principals, managed identities, and Key Vault integrations.
Support vulnerability remediation, security scanning, and compliance requirements.
Ensure infrastructure and deployment processes align with organizational security standards.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to DevOps Engineers and project teams.
Review infrastructure designs, deployment approaches, and automation solutions.
Promote engineering standards, best practices, and operational excellence.
Contribute to architectural discussions and provide DevOps expertise during solution design.
Work closely with Development, QA, Product, and Delivery teams to support successful releases.
Assist with release planning, deployment readiness, and environment strategy.
Troubleshoot complex deployment and infrastructure issues.
Collaborate with architects and platform teams to align solutions with enterprise standards.
Identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
Develop self-service capabilities and reusable DevOps solutions.
Evaluate emerging Azure services, DevOps tools, and industry best practices.
Contribute to platform modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.
5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
Strong hands‑on experience with Azure services and cloud-native architectures.
Expertise with Gitlab Pipelines, Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD best practices.
Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
