Role: Senior Cloud Engineer / Azure DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer with 9+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and supporting secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.

The role requires strong technical expertise in Azure cloud services, CI/CD automation, Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud security, along with the ability to work with architects, developers, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Azure Cloud Engineering

• Design and implement Azure infrastructure across development, testing, pre-production, and production environments.


• Manage Azure Virtual Networks, Subnets, NSGs, Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, and Private Endpoints.


• Implement and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure App Services, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Container Registry.


• Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and cloud alerting.


• Implement high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and cloud cost optimisation.

2. Terraform & Infrastructure as Code

• Develop reusable, modular Terraform code for Azure infrastructure provisioning.


• Design and maintain Terraform modules, variables, state management, and environment-specific configurations.


• Implement remote Terraform state using Azure Storage with appropriate state locking and access controls.


• Manage Terraform plan, apply, destroy, and import operations.


• Establish infrastructure deployment standards, code reviews, and automated validation.


• Experience with Terraform Cloud or Enterprise is desirable.

3. Azure DevOps & CI/CD

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.


• Develop YAML-based build and release pipelines.


• Automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform through Azure DevOps pipelines.


• Implement approval gates, environment-based deployments, and release strategies.


• Integrate security scanning, code quality checks, and automated testing.


• Manage Azure Repos, Boards, Artifacts, and pipeline permissions.

4. Kubernetes & Containerisation

• Deploy and manage containerised applications on AKS.


• Configure Kubernetes namespaces, deployments, services, ingress, secrets, and autoscaling.


• Work with Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes configuration.


• Troubleshoot container, networking, and application deployment issues.


• Implement monitoring and logging for containerised workloads.

5. Security & Governance

• Implement Azure RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, and least-privilege access.


• Configure secure authentication using Microsoft Entra ID.


• Implement network security, private connectivity, and secrets management.


• Follow Azure security, compliance, and enterprise cloud governance standards.

6. Production Support & Technical Leadership

• Provide L3 support for Azure infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform deployments.


• Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root-cause analysis.


• Support cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.


• Create technical documentation, operational runbooks, and architecture diagrams.


• Mentor junior and mid-level cloud engineers.
