Job Description

In the HPE Hybrid Cloud, we lead the innovation agenda and technology roadmap for all of HPE. This includes managing the design, development, and product portfolio of our next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake. Working with customers, we help them reimagine their information technology needs to deliver a simple, consumable solution that helps them drive their business results. What you’ll do:

• The Systems/Software Engineer is responsible for architecting, developing, configuring, and maintaining the platform for HPE StoreOnce physical and virtual appliances. This role involves close collaboration with both software and hardware engineering teams.
• The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in operating systems, system programming, and storage technologies, with strong attention to detail and proficiency in OS configuration, deployment, and kernel‑level components.
• Design, install, configure, monitor, and maintain HPE StoreOnce physical and virtual appliances.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in file systems, Linux internals, storage driver stacks, NAS architecture, and programming languages such as C, C++, and Golang.
• Collaborate with the Software Engineering Manager to define and refine OS‑level requirements.
• Release completed designs to production following standard engineering procedures.

What you need to bring:

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and technical problem‑solving aptitude.
• Effective organizational and time‑management skills.
• Solid understanding of storage technologies, including RAID, virtualization, SAN, and NAS.
• Expertise in system programming: Linux internals, multi-threading, and inter‑process communication.
• Experience with source control tools (e.g., Git, GitHub).
• Background in storage protocols such as SCSI and Fibre Channel is a plus.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in System programming.
