Job summary

Jacobs in Bengaluru, India seeks an experienced fire protection design professional to develop and review fire safety systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. You will produce detailed layouts, hydraulic calculations, and compliance documentation per NFPA, NBC and local codes.

The role involves technical design, drawing checks, 3D modeling, and close coordination with engineers and stakeholders to maintain high design standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI with min 5-15 years in designing fire protection systems (hydrant, sprinkler, extinguisher, MVWS/HVWS, gas suppression, pre-action).
• Experience in PHE/plumbing water supply, sanitary drains, rainwater in industrial and commercial/data center buildings.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling and the listed software tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out technical design, drawing and documentation as directed by Lead Engineer.
• Assist in checking drawings prior to submission for approval.
• Apply technical knowledge to ensure high engineering design standards.
• Ensure effective communications with all stakeholders.
• Coordinate with team members intra- and inter-disciplinary.
• Demonstrate strong technical domain knowledge.
• Prepare project activities: drawings, 3D models, BOQ extraction, clash-free models.
• Adhere to department work instructions and QM manuals.

Experienced fire protection design professional with strong expertise in developing and reviewing fire safety systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Skilled in preparing detailed layouts, hydraulic calculations, and compliance documentation in line with NFPA, NBC, and local codes.

• Designer shall carry out Technical Design, drawing and documentation as directed by Lead Engineer
• Designer shall Assist in the checking of drawing prior to submission to the Lead Engineer for approval.
• Designer shall Apply his technical knowledge to the Engineering Design to ensure that a consistently high standard is maintained.
• Designer Ensure effective communications with all stakeholders.
• Designer shall Co-ordinate with Other team Members Intra disciplinary / interdisciplinary
• Shall Exhibit the Technical Domain knowledge
• Preparation of all Project related activities like, drawing preparation, 3D Model, Review of Drawings and or 3D model, BOQ extraction from 3D model, Clash free model.
• Adherence to Department Work Instruction and QMs Manual

Qualifications

Diploma/ ITI with Min 5-15 years of experience in designing Fire protection system (Hydrant, sprinkler, extinguisher, MVWS, HVWS System, gas suppression system, pre-action system), etc.

PHE (plumbing system)-Water supply, sanitary drains, rainwater, storm water system in industrial as well as commercial/data center buildings.

• Knowledge of 3D Modelling Software is mandatory.
