Job summary

TRU Colors seeks an experienced Fashion/Apparel Designer to lead end-to-end design and development of school uniform and apparel collections in India. You will research fashion trends, create digital sketches and tech packs, and collaborate with vendors to ensure quality and fit.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in Fashion Design with 3–6 years of relevant experience, strong Illustrator skills, and expertise in fabrics, trims, and garment construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in fashion/apparel design.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (Mandatory).
• Excellent sketching, technical drawing, and garment construction skills.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, colours, garment construction, and apparel production.
• Experience in developing designs from concept to final product.
• Creative, detail-oriented, commercially aware, and strong in team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and development of school uniform and apparel collections.
• Conduct in-depth research on fashion, colour, fabric, and market trends to develop innovative and commercially relevant design concepts.
• Create digital sketches, technical drawings, prints, and professional design presentations using Adobe Illustrator.
• Drive the selection and development of fabrics, colours, trims, prints, and styling in alignment with brand guidelines and requirements.
• Develop new and innovative designs with a strong focus on functionality, comfort, fit, quality, and commercial viability.
• Prepare detailed tech packs and technical specifications for all designs to ensure accurate production execution.
• Collaborate closely with vendors, fabric suppliers, production, and merchandising teams throughout the product development process.
• Conduct fittings, evaluate samples, identify areas for improvement, and provide technical inputs to ensure the desired fit and finish.
• Guide and mentor junior designers while supporting the overall design direction and maintaining consistency across collections.
