Job summary

Unispace in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Designer with 8+ years of interior design experience to lead life science, corporate and commercial projects. You will mentor teams, coordinate with clients and consultants, and oversee design from concept to construction documents.

You will work within a global design-build environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams across studios, and contribute to an inclusive, innovative culture while delivering visually stunning, functional spaces.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as an Interior Designer.
• Demonstrated success leading high-performing design teams in Life Science, Corporate, and Commercial projects.
• Proficiency with design tools including Revit, CAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead a variety of projects from large-scale to smaller initiatives.
• Collaborate with clients to provide support and solutions for internal teams.
• Work with the Design Principal and the Unispace team to implement methodology across the project life cycle.
• Communicate effectively with clients, designers, consultants, and construction teams to exceed expectations.
• Lead design teams in preparing drawings, finish boards, and full documentation.
• Transform and refresh workplaces and labs for diverse clients.
• Partner with Business Development and Construction teams to educate clients on Unispace’s value.
• Coordinate between clients, teams, and consultants (MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, etc.).
• Lead the design process from conceptual design to final construction documents.
• Mentor junior staff to produce exceptional designs and grow skills.
• Deliver presentations that impress and inspire clients.
• Contribute as a cross-functional team member to ensure project success.
• Foster equality, creativity, and innovation, encouraging out-of-the-box thinking.

As a senior designer you will lead innovative design projects that transform workplaces and labs for a diverse range of clients, including those in the Life Science and Corporate sectors. As a key player in Unispace’s design team, you will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver high-impact, functional, and beautiful spaces. What you’re responsible for

• Lead a variety of exciting projects, from large-scale to smaller initiatives.
• Work closely with clients, providing support and solutions to assist their internal teams.
• Collaborate with your Design Principal and all members of the Unispace team to ensure our methodology is implemented throughout the entire project life cycle.
• Communicate effectively with clients, designers, consultants, and technical and construction teams to exceed client expectations.
• Lead project teams in managing all aspects of design work, including preparing drawings, finish boards, and full documentation.

• Oversee coordination between clients, teams, and various consultants (MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, structural, etc.) to ensure smooth project execution.
• Lead the design process from conceptual design to final construction documents.
• Mentor junior staff members, helping them produce exceptional designs and develop their skills.
• Create and deliver presentations that impress and inspire our clients.
• Deliver projects that are both visually stunning, functional, and financially successful.
• Contribute as a valued member of a cross-functional team, stepping in where needed to ensure project success.

Your experience and skills

• 8+ years of experience as an Interior Designer
• Demonstrated success in leading high-performing design teams for Life Science, Corporate, and Commercial projects, including restacking, renovations, and phasing.
• Ability to deliver innovative and impactful design solutions.
• Proficiency in design tools, including Revit, CAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel.
• Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience pitching and presenting to high-profile clients; experience in designing large corporate campuses is a plus.
