Job summary

Magna Seating in Pune, India, seeks a CAD engineer to design foam seating components using CATIA V5, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with OEM and regulatory standards.

You will develop foam pads, trim attachments, and plastics knowledge while producing 2D/3D CATIA outputs, meeting customer deliverables, and maintaining data management practices within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in CATIA V5 for foam pad design and industrial seating components.
• Knowledge of foam manufacturing, testing methods, and tooling feasibility.
• Experience with trim cover development and types of trim attachments.
• Understanding of plastics and seating assemblies for OEM requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design foam pads with manufacturing and tooling feasibility in mind.
• Develop trim covers and select attachment methods.
• Create 2D and 3D CATIA V5 drawings and models.
• Meet customer deliverables with efficient use of the team and timelines.
• Maintain open issue lists and ensure data management best practices.

Job Responsibilities

• Proficient in CAD software Catia V5.
• Responsible for designing of Foam pads considering manufacturing & tooling feasibility.
• Knowledge of trim cover development, types of trim attachments.
• Knowledge of foam manufacturing, testing methods.
• Knowledge of complete seat for foam design.
• Knowledge of plastics
• Knowledge of global regulations & OEM requirements studies.
• Responsible to meet customer's deliverables with effective utilization of team.
• Responsible to create open issue lists.
• Responsible to create 2D & 3D in Catia V5.
• Good communication skills-written and verbal.
• Knowledge of data management best practices.
