Job summary

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is seeking a Senior Design Engineer/Assistant Manager to lead electrical design for mining and construction projects. You will create electrical control panel concepts, load lists, and tender documents with vendors and in-house data.

Key responsibilities include coordinating with vendors, preparing layouts for MV/LV switchgear, PLC/DCS panel schedules, and ensuring quality records while driving value engineering and cost-optimisation across projects.

Qualifications

• BE/B.TECH in Electrical Engineering with 7-10 years of experience.
• Senior Design Engineer/Assistant Manager role in Electrical Design.
• Experience in electrical design and project coordination.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and E-Plan.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specification of Electrical Control Panel and finalize technical aspects with vendors.
• Prepare C&S Plant Cabling layout and testing of control panels and equipment.
• Incorporation of PLC, HMI, AC drive and soft starter with interlocks.
• Carry out value engineering to reduce costs and improve erection time.
• Maintain quality records and prepare installation layouts.
• Create MV/LV switchgear panels and control panel schedules.
• Assist in troubleshooting both offsite and onsite.
• Review tender documents and prepare cost estimation with data.

Key Responsibilities.

• Prepare specification of Electrical Control Panel & Finalizing technical aspects with vendor.
• Prepare C&S Plant Cabling layout.
• Testing of Control Panel, vibrating equipment, Crushing & Screening machines.
• Incorporation of PLC, HMI, AC drive and soft starter in control panel with interlocking facility and fully automatic control.
• Take value engineering projects to reduce electrical component cost and erection and commissioning time.
• Maintain quality records.
• Making the electrical and automation design concept, electrical load list,
• scope matrix for material supply.
• Knowledge of the PLC/DCS panel schedule i.e. System cabinet, Marshalling
• cabinet, PLC/DCS IO list with IO assignment.
• interconnection drawings.
• Making the MV/LV switchgear Panel & control panel schedule.
• Calculation & sizing of electrical equipment like distribution
• transformers, UPS system, HV/LV cable, earthing, Busduct, DG set etc
• Preparing the Equipment’s installation layout, Outdoor /Indoor cable tray
• layout, Trench Layout, Earthing & Lighting Layout.
• Assist in Trouble shooting offsite and onsite
• Be able to go through tender documents electrical and automation scope and prepare cost estimation with help from 3rd party quote and in-house data.
