Job summary

AMETEK Micro-Poise Tire Testing & Inspection in India seeks a Mechanical Design & Drafting Engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of experience for plant equipment and machinery design. You will draft, review, and release 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs, while migrating legacy data to PDM and supporting engineering change activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with minimum 7 years’ experience in mechanical design & drafting for plant equipment and machinery.
• Experience in designs for industrial equipment, automation, conveyors and material handling.
• Ability to create drawings, maintenance of CAD data, and COE in PDM workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft mechanical components and assemblies for industrial equipment.
• Create manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
• Migrate CAD data to PDM and manage legacy 2D to 3D conversions.
• Support rework updates and engineering change management.
• Release CAD data in PDM and ensure quality checks.

Job Description:

Ametek Micro-Poise Tire Testing & Inspection is seeking a Mechanical Design & Drafting Engineer to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Mechanical design & drafting for plant equipment and machinery.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Basic Knowledge in Designing of products of Industrial equipment’s & automation, Like: special purpose machines, material handling equipment’s, conveyor systems, low-cost automation, etc.
• Carryout engineering functions like Rework updates, Engineering change Management, Drawing creation, Migration of CAD data to PDM, Legacy conversion of 2D data to 3D
• Self-dependent generation of:
  • Understand various design aspects of industrial machine building and should be able to handle the rework associated to mechanical design and mfg.
  • Good understanding of industrial machine mechanical controls, like Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
  • 3D CAD parts & assemblies
  • Manufacturing drawings creation
  • Bill of material
  • Quality check of CAD data and drawings
  • Release process in PDM Database
• Knowledge on different manufacturing processes like machining, welding, forming, fabrication, and sheet metal
• Basic knowledge on FE Analysis (added advantages); ASME/ANSI Materials; DFM and DFA
• Help other engineers with designs, drawings, preparing engineering documents etc.
