Job summary

SonicWall is seeking a senior dataplane software engineer in India to lead development and optimization of a key dataplane module for its NGFW platforms. You will design and implement high‑performance packet processing paths and work with cross‑functional teams to deliver security features in real-time.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in C/C++ systems-level networking/embedded development.
• Expertise in high-performance packet processing (DPDK/ODP/OFP).
• Solid knowledge of L3/L4 protocols (IPv4/IPv6, NAT, VPN/IPsec).
• Strong OS internals, memory, concurrency, and network stack concepts.
• Excellent debugging and performance-tuning skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration for cross-functional work.

• Diagnose and resolve complex performance, throughput, and latency issues in the dataplane.
• Collaborate with platform, networking, security, and QA teams to deliver features and product improvements.
• Prototype and evaluate new dataplane technologies, contributing to next‑gen NGFW capabilities.
• Influence architectural decisions, scalability strategies, and long‑term technical direction for dataplane components.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in C/C++ systems‑level development for networking or embedded platforms.
• Strong hands‑on expertise inDPDK, ODP, OFP, or similar high‑performance packet‑processing frameworks.
• Solid understanding ofL3/L4 networkingprotocols, including IPv4/IPv6, routing, NAT, VPN/IPsec/SSL, and related protocols.
• Strong knowledge of OS internals, memory and concurrency models, and network stack behaviour.
• Excellent debugging, performance tuning, and system analysis skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to drive cross‑functional technical discussions.
