The ‘Senior Database Administrator’ will administer, configure, monitor and optimise Microsoft SQL Server databases across VMware-hosted environments and Azure cloud services. The role focuses on reliable production support, stored procedure development and maintenance, performance tuning, incident and change management, and supporting both BAU operations and project delivery. The role also contributes to Azure-based data flows supporting Dynamics case and claims processes, while maintaining appropriate data protection controls.

- Administer, configure and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases in VMware-hosted environments and Azure cloud services.
- Develop, maintain and troubleshoot stored procedures, and perform SQL query and database performance tuning as required.
- Conduct routine production health checks, monitor database availability and performance, and resolve database incidents and service requests.
- Manage work initiated through ITSM processes and Azure DevOps (ADO) boards, including BAU activities, service requests, controlled changes and project tasks.
- Raise and track change requests, follow change approval and CAB governance, and ensure implementation activities meet operational standards.
- Support database patching, upgrades, backups, recovery testing, capacity management and production reliability.
- Use monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Azure Monitor and, where available, Redgate to identify performance issues and support proactive database management.
