Job summary

Experian, a global data and technology company, is seeking a Senior Data Modeler in Mumbai to unlock data via modelling, analytics, and machine learning across banking and financial services.

You will apply data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling to build outcomes and automated scoring, while supporting pre-sales and analytics teams in product creation.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in core analytics at a large bank or consulting firm.
• Strong background in data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning (e.g., Gradient Boost, KNN, Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees).
• Hands-on experience with statistical modelling and data analysis tools, especially Python and SAS.
• Applied statistics skills, including distributions, statistical testing, regression.
• Knowledge of credit bureau and portfolio management in banking and financial services is an advantage.
• Clear, consultative communication style and ability to see the big picture.
• High moral and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality analytical and value-added services to clients while meeting agreed timelines.
• Engage business, technical consultants, and delivery teams to build shared understanding and agreement on proposed solutions.
• Use analysis and customer insights to develop value propositions for customers.
• Partner with the sales team managing multiple opportunities concurrently.
• Support pre-sales and analytics activities to ensure product creation.
• Report to the Senior Analytics Consultant.

Job Description

We are looking for a Sr. Data Modeler to unlock our vast amounts of data through modelling and advanced analytics, helping us make smarter decisions and deliver better products to our clients. The primary focus will be applying data mining techniques, performing statistical analysis, and building high‑quality prediction systems and automated scores using machine learning integrated with our products. The role also involves supporting business teams, pre‑sales, and analytics to ensure product creation.

Ideally, the candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience in the core analytics function of a large bank or consulting firm, experience handling large data volumes using analysis tools, and the ability to generate actionable data insights.
