PTC Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Pune District, Maharashtra, India. The role focuses on designing and managing enterprise-scale data platforms, with hands-on work in dbt, Snowflake, SQL, Python, Airflow, and GitLab CI/CD to support AI/ML initiatives.

The ideal candidate will mentor teammates, improve data quality, governance, and observability while collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• 13–14 years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing.
• Hands-on with dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, Python, and SQL.
• Familiar with GitLab CI/CD and data governance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt, Snowflake, and Airflow.
• Implement complex transformations with SQL and Python for enterprise data models.
• Build and optimize data warehouses, data marts, and metadata governance.
• Orchestrate workflows, monitor performance, and troubleshoot failures with Airflow.
• Automate deployments via GitLab CI/CD and mentor junior engineers.

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with 13–14 years of experience in designing, developing, and managing enterprise-scale data platforms and ETL/ELT solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in dbt, Snowflake, SQL, Python, Airflow, and GitLab CI/CD , along with hands‑on experience supporting AI/ML initiatives .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt , Snowflake , and Airflow .
• Implement complex business transformation logic using SQL and Python .
• Design and optimize enterprise data models, data marts, and data warehouse solutions.
• Build, schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot workflows using Apache Airflow .
• Develop and automate deployment processes using GitLab CI/CD , including creation and management of jobs and runners .
• Ensure data quality, governance, observability, and performance optimization.
• Support AI/ML initiatives by building feature‑ready datasets and scalable data pipelines.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Architects, and business stakeholders to deliver data‑driven solutions.
• Mentor team members and drive best practices in data engineering and software development.

Required Skills

• 13–14 years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL, Data Warehousing, or related domains.

• Advanced SQL skills, including complex transformations, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Strong Python programming experience for data processing, automation, and validation.

• Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms .
• Deep knowledge of ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing, Dimensional Modeling, and Data Governance.
• Experience working on AI/ML projects , including: Data preparation and feature engineering

• MLOps concepts
• Supporting model deployment and monitoring

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to Generative AI, RAG architectures, Vector Databases, or AI‑powered analytics solutions.
• Experience leading technical teams and driving architecture decisions.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
