Job summary

Greenlight Planet Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer – Incentive Compensation to own end-to-end accuracy, automation, and continuous improvement of Sun King incentive systems.

You will translate complex incentive rules into reliable workflows, resolve discrepancies, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will design and automate incentive pipelines, monitor outputs, and ensure auditability across multi-country operations, collaborating with Sales,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science or any quantitative field.
• 3+ years in data analytics engineering, BI, or incentive operations.
• Strong Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation, validation.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket and Airflow concepts.
• Experience with BI tools (Looker/Tableau/Redshift) and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Own design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of incentive calculation pipelines.
• Lead end-to-end automation of the incentive pipeline.
• Automate incentive processes to be event-based, not scheduled.
• Translate incentive rules into auditable data workflows with Data Eng team.
• Build monitoring and alerting to detect anomalies in commission outputs.
• Implement QA frameworks and reconciliation dashboards for auditability.
• Architect for multi-line-of-business and multi-country complexity.
• Gatekeeper for business logic changes; collaborate with Sales and Finance VPs.

About the role: We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer – Incentive Compensation to own the end-to-end accuracy, automation, and continuous improvement of Sun King's agent and staff incentive and commission systems. This role sits at the intersection of data, business logic, and stakeholder collaboration—requiring someone who can translate complex incentive rules into reliable automated workflows, identify and resolve discrepancies proactively, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The ideal candidate brings problem-solving skills, a structured approach to investigating data issues, a data quality-first mindset, and the ability to build trust with field teams and business stakeholders by ensuring incentive outcomes are fair, timely, and well understood.

What you will be expected to do

• Own the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of incentive calculation pipelines, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all agent incentive outputs.
• Lead the end-to-end automation of the incentive pipeline.
• Automate every incentive process to make it event based and not schedule based.
• Translate business incentive rules and policy changes into automated, auditable data workflows in collaboration with the Data Engineering team.
• Build and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect anomalies in commission outputs before they impact agents.
• Implement rigorous quality assurance frameworks and reconciliation dashboards to ensure 100% accuracy and auditability for every dollar disbursed.
• Architect the system to handle multi-line-of-business (Phones, Inverters, LPG) and multi-country complexities without increasing manual overhead.
• Serve as the final gatekeeper for business logic changes, partner with Sales and Finance VPs to translate new commission structures into scalable technical requirements.
• Work with Finance, Operations, Payroll managers and field management teams to understand incentive program requirements and ensure data solutions reflect ground-level realities.
• Equip the teams with right tools and information to handle escalations from the agents.

You might be a strong candidate if you have/are

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science or any quantitative fields.
• 3+ years of experience in a data analytics engineer, business intelligence, or incentive operations role.
• Good proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Proficiency in Git and Bitbucket and airflow concepts and usage.
• Demonstrated ability to investigate complex data discrepancies, form hypotheses, and drive issues to resolution
• Experience working with BI tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Redshift) and translating business into data models.
• Good stakeholder management skills, comfortable presenting findings to non-technical audiences and managing expectations across multiple teams.
• Attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership over data accuracy and process reliability.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document processes clearly and explain incentive logic to field teams.
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Prior experience in incentive design, commission operations, or agent-facing programs is a strong plus.
• Enthusiasm for mentoring others and building team capability around incentive data literacy.
