Job summary

Sandoz is seeking a Senior Data Engineer - Global Development, Portfolio & Pipeline to build and own data pipelines feeding the enterprise data platform. You will transform complex data into trusted, business-ready data products for regulatory, portfolio, quality, and biosimilar development functions.

The role requires strong SQL, Python, dbt, and cloud experience with Databricks and AWS. You will collaborate with architects, analysts, and SMEs to deliver end-to-end data solutions in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer building and supporting production-grade data pipelines with medium to large-scale datasets.
• Strong expertise in SQL with deep experience in analytical queries, data transformations, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or comparable transformation frameworks and modern data modeling methodologies.
• Proficiency in Python for data ingestion, automation, and transformation workflows.
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, Apache Spark, and AWS services.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and modern engineering practices including testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Ability to own solutions end-to-end, including design, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines from GDPP source systems into the enterprise data platform.
• Implement and operationalize the enterprise data model by building robust transformations that cleanse, standardize, and integrate source data.
• Build and maintain business-ready datasets and data products aligned with business requirements and data product specifications.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement data quality controls, validation frameworks, and automated checks to ensure trusted and accurate data assets.
• Work across Databricks and AWS-based environments, including S3, ECS/ECR, Python-based ETL processes, and cloud-native data services.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for data flows, transformation logic, lineage, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, business stakeholders, analysts, and SMEs to translate requirements into effective data solutions.
• KPI: Ensure high availability, reliability, and quality of enterprise data pipelines supporting business-critical reporting and analytics.

As a Senior Data Engineer - Global Development, Portfolio & Pipeline (GDPP), you will build, own, and maintain the data pipelines that bring GDPP data from source systems into Sandozs enterprise data platform. You will play a key role in transforming complex business data into trusted, business-ready data products, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
