Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking a Senior Data Architect with strong Pre-Sales and Data Modernization experience to engage with customers, understand challenges, define solutions, and develop proposals/SOWs. You will collaborate with Sales to shape and close opportunities and lead large-scale data modernization programs from strategy through execution.

The role requires translating customer needs into data strategy, target architecture, and technology solutions, with expertise in Data Architecture,

Qualifications

• 14–18 years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Engineering / Data Consulting / Solution Architecture.
• Strong Pre-Sales / Solution Consulting experience in a customer-facing role.
• Proven experience in large-scale Data Modernization / Data Transformation programs from strategy → architecture → implementation/execution.
• Ability to conduct customer discovery, understand business/technology challenges and identify gaps.
• Ability to translate customer challenges into data strategy, target architecture and technology solutions.
• Strong experience creating RFP/RFI responses, technical proposals, SOWs, effort estimates and solution presentations.
• Experience working closely with Sales/Business Development to qualify, shape and close opportunities/deals.
• Strong expertise in Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, Data Lakes/Lakehouses, ETL/ELT and Data Integration.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL, OneLake/Data Factory/Dataflows Gen2.
• Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata, Lineage and Security.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior customer stakeholders and executives.

• Experience developing reference architectures, accelerators and reusable solution frameworks.
• Consulting / System Integration / IT Services industry experience.
• Experience with solution estimation, delivery models and commercial/deal shaping.
