CHG-MERIDIAN is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to perform independent credit assessment and ongoing risk management of asset finance and leasing exposures across a diverse APAC portfolio, supporting origination, portfolio management, and funding activities.

The role emphasizes engagement with external funders to ensure transactions meet credit standards and funder requirements, with responsibilities spanning cross-border risk, governance, and regional market insights.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare clear, well-structured credit submissions for new and existing transactions
  • Assess customer, guarantor, and group credit risk, including cross-border group structures
  • Evaluate collateral and other risk mitigants, taking into account jurisdictional, legal, and enforceability considerations
  • Provide sound risk recommendations, including credit grading, approval conditions, structure considerations, and monitoring requirements
  • Review transaction structures to ensure alignment with internal credit standards and external funding requirements
  • Assess multi-currency exposures, guarantees, and structural risks associated with regional and cross-border transactions
  • Manage and review a portfolio of asset finance and leasing exposures across APAC
  • Conduct annual reviews and event-driven credit reassessments
  • Identify emerging risks and early warning indicators, and recommend proactive mitigation strategies
  • Monitor portfolio trends, sector developments, and customer performance to support timely risk management actions
  • Act as a key credit contact for external funding partners
  • Support various funding structures, including: Sale of receivables, Structured and secured funding arrangements
  • Prepare funder-facing credit materials, including: Term sheets, Credit summaries and portfolio reports
  • Transaction-specific risk analyses, Responses to funder due diligence, credit questions, and information requests
  • Ensure alignment between internal credit approvals and funder credit criteria, covenants, and reporting obligations
  • Support ongoing funder monitoring and reporting requirements as required
  • Apply strong understanding of Asian market asset finance and credit markets, including local practices, regulatory environments, security, enforcement, and recoveries
  • Contribute to cross-functional engagement with Sales, Operations, Treasury, Legal, and other teams across the transaction lifecycle
  • Engage with customers to clarify financial performance, business models, ownership structures, and transaction details
  • Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior credit analysts
  • Support consistent and disciplined credit governance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Onboarding, training and mentoring of new staff members
  • Contribute to team tasks, projects and ad hoc initiatives
  • Provide flexible support for broader team needs and other duties as required

Job description

The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for independent credit assessment and ongoing risk management of asset finance and leasing exposures across a diverse portfolio of customers in APAC. Key Responsibilities

Regional & Cross-Border Expertise

  • Apply strong understanding of Asian market asset finance and credit markets, including:
  • Local business practices
  • Regulatory and legal environments
  • Practical considerations relating to security, enforcement, and recoveries
  • Support business expansion into new APAC countries through credit assessment and market understanding
  • Contribute insight into local commercial practices, customer risk profiles, and structural considerations
  • Experience in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore is viewed favourably, but is not essential

Stakeholder Engagement & Credit Governance

  • Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Treasury, Legal, and other teams across the transaction lifecycle
  • Engage with customers as required to clarify financial performance, business models, ownership structures, and transaction details
  • Contribute to credit policy interpretation, enhancement, and governance initiatives
  • Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior credit analysts
  • Support consistent and disciplined credit governance across multiple jurisdictions

Other Responsibilities

  • Support the onboarding, training and mentoring of new staff members.
  • Contribute to team tasks, projects and ad hoc initiatives as required.
