Job summary

ARUP is seeking a seasoned BMS/Controls lead to guide design projects across consultancy, contracting or manufacturing environments. You will engage with clients, project teams and stakeholders, translating requirements into robust control solutions and clear reports.

This role involves hands-on leadership, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with MEP teams. Travel to India, the Middle East and abroad may be required to support project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified engineer, or equivalent experience in the BMS industry.
• Proven ability to lead BMS/Controls projects and collaborate with MEP teams.
• Strong client-facing, communication and report-writing skills.
• People and project management skills with the ability to mentor engineers.
• Commercial awareness and experience managing BMS projects in buildings.

We are looking for someone with strong experience leading BMS/Controls design projects, ideally gained within consultancy, contracting or manufacturing environments. You bring a practical approach to problem solving, strong communication skills and the ability to engage with clients, project teams and stakeholders at all levels.

We d like to hear from you if you:

• Are a degree qualified engineer, or equivalent experience in the BMS industry in a similar role.
• Have proven ability to lead BMS/Controls projects and work collaboratively with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) teams.
• Possess strong client-facing, communication and report-writing skills.
• Have good people and project management skills, with the ability to mentor and train less experienced engineers.
• Have commercial awareness and experience managing BMS projects along with interest in buildings in use, energy management, building performance evaluation, post-occupancy evaluation, digital services, and health and wellbeing in operational buildings.
• Can work on project sites in India, the Middle East and overseas when required.
