Job summary

HSBC in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Senior Control Tester to advance independent control assessments across key risk areas. You will support the Review lead and AVP, oversee CT team quality, and help deliver timely testing and MI.

The role demands 3–5 years in assurance or internal audit within financial services, knowledge of internal control frameworks, and a proactive, meticulous approach to risk governance. SOX experience and automation familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in assurance, audit, compliance or risk management within financial services or other major industries.
• Knowledge in management, internal control, or internal audit preferably within a financial/banking services operations environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field; risk qualifications (CIA/FRM) desirable.

Responsibilities

Senior Control Tester

In This Role, You Will

• Support the Review lead and Assistant Vice President in executing the accurate and timely completion of independent control assessments for all relevant risks and associated controls
• Oversee the quality of work delivered by the Control Testing(CT) team and ensure compliance with templates, procedures, and quality requirements.
• Understand and document the remit, process composition and team handovers of relevant controls.
• Proactively monitor the assigned and relevant risks to identify key emerging trends and themes
• Execution and delivery of a portfolio of control assessments.
• Accurate, timely and reliable testing of controls associated with all relevant risks
• Support the production of high-quality management information (MI) covering CT activities.
• Increased utilisation of automation and analytics across all control assessments.
• Provide thought leadership and direction for ad-hoc requests and be able to prioritize.

To Be Successful You Will

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years proven experience in assurance, audit, compliance or risk management within financial services or other major industries.
• Demonstrable knowledge in management, internal control, or internal audit preferably within a financial / banking services operations environment
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related field such as business, finance, law or equivalent experience. Risk qualifications (i.e. CIA -Certified Internal Auditor, FRM – Financial Risk Manager) are desirable.
• Proven ability to multi-task and working independently under pressure to tight deadlines in a challenging and fluid environment.
• Awareness of good risk management and governance frameworks including 3 lines of defence criteria
• Understanding of the activities of relevant business lines and associated compliance risks.
• Ability to foster relationships whilst providing adequate challenge and effecting change.Experience utilising assurance automation and analytics tools preferred.
• SOX, NON-SOX, Internal Control, Automated control Testing (BACs)
