Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in Chennai invites an experienced professional for the role of Financial Control - Accounting and Analyst. The role focuses on balance sheet reconciliations, IFRS-based reporting, and ensuring timely BAU activities while maintaining strong stakeholder relations.

The ideal candidate is a Chartered Accountant with articleship, proficient in Excel/Office, with strong numerical, analytical and communication skills and IFRS knowledge. Banking experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant with 12 months articleship completed.
• Strong Excel skills and knowledge of MS Access, VBA and macros preferred.
• Experience in Banking/Financial services organisation is advantageous.
• Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Balance Sheet Reconciliations and substantiation initiatives.
• Prepare financial reports per IFRS/Financial Reporting requirements.
• Meet defined SLAs and maintain good client relationships.
• Ensure all BAU activities are completed timely and accurately.
• Review and analyze reports before submission to in-country team.
• Coordinate effectively with other teams across locations.
• Ensure adherence to control in BAU processes.
• Lead process improvements and drive efficiency within the team.

In this role, you will:

• Responsible for Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Substantiation initiatives


• Responsible for preparing financial reports as per requirement of International Financial Reporting Standards / Financial Reporting.


• Responsible for meeting the defined Service Level Agreements and managing good relationships with the customer


• Ensuring all the Business As Usual activities are done timely and accurately


• Review and analysis of reports before submission to in-country team


• Co-ordinate & effectively communicate with other teams in diverse locations across in-country.


• Ensuring adherence to control in Business As Usual process.


• Be a team player in supporting any other OA activities, wherever applicable. Lead and execute process improvement initiatives within the team and improve efficiency.

To be successful you will:

• Chartered Accountancy wirh 12 months articleship completion with No Excess Leaves taken.


• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.


• Capability to understand, analyze and interpret numeric data.


• Excellent Communication and Inter person skills – Both verbal and written


• Experience of working in Banking/Financial services organization of repute will be an advantage.


• Understanding of international Financial Reporting Standards


• Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Microsoft Access (Visual basics) and Macros are preferred


• Willing to stretch as per the process requirements.
