Job Description

Senior Consultant - Orthopaedics is responsible for providing specialized evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and surgical care for patients with musculoskeletal, bone, joint, and orthopedic conditions. The includes complex orthopedic procedures, trauma management, postoperative care, multidisciplinary coordination, supervision of junior doctors, and clinical quality improvement.

• Evaluate patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
• Obtain detailed medical, surgical, and injury histories.
• Review X-rays, CT, MRI, and other diagnostic investigations.
• Develop individualized medical and surgical treatment plans.
• Perform appropriate orthopedic procedures and surgeries.
• Manage orthopedic trauma and emergency cases.
• Provide preoperative assessment and patient optimization.
• Monitor postoperative patients and rehabilitation progress.
• Identify and manage postoperative complications.
• Coordinate with physiotherapy, radiology, anaesthesia, rehabilitation, and other specialties.
• Participate in OPD, ward, OT, and emergency services.
• Provide counselling regarding treatment, surgery, rehabilitation, and follow-up.
• Guide residents and junior orthopedic staff.
• Maintain accurate clinical and operative documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Support infection-control and patient-safety initiatives.
• Participate in clinical audits and quality-improvement programs.
• Support teaching and professional development activities.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow professional standards.
