Job summary

Deltatechhub is seeking a Component Engineer in Bengaluru to support the Engineering team with safety, reliability, and lifecycle performance of aircraft components. You will engage in root-cause analysis, implement directives, and develop critical engineering documentation.

You will collaborate across maintenance, fleet engineering, materials, and IT to drive continuous improvements, analyze data, and prepare reports. Occasional irregular shifts may be required to meet critical deadlines.

  • Root-cause analysis for structural issues.
  • Review and implement Airworthiness Directives and OEM bulletins.
  • Develop engineering documentation for inspections, repairs, and modifications.
  • Evaluate maintenance procedures for effectiveness and improvements.
  • Support maintenance and repair of landing gear, wheels, brakes, tires.
  • Perform technical analyses and recommend improvements for reliability.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures and modifications.
  • Collaborate to ensure seamless integration and communication.
  • Interface with maintenance organization, fleet engineering, materials, supply chain, IT, and other teams.
  • Participate in work scope planning, configuration specs, and analytics.
  • Collect data for out-of-limits damage conditions and assist in repairs.
  • Support the development of Shop Visit Reports and Failure Investigation Reports.
  • Develop repairs/alterations for aircraft components, and prepare data per CFRs.
  • Maintain compliance with FAA, DOT, OSHA, EPA regulations and TOPP.
  • Provide project status via briefings and documentation.
  • Prepare and conduct Engineering Working Group meetings.
  • Revise FAA approved Manuals and Engineering Reports.
  • Facilitate collaboration with Manufacturers and FAA ACO/FSDO/CMO.
  • Irregular shift hours may be required occasionally.

Job description

The Component Engineer will support Delta’s Engineering team in managing the safety, reliability, and lifecycle performance of Delta’s aircraft components through one or more of the following capacities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Aero Structures (Sheet Metal, Composites & TRs):

  • Perform root cause analysis for structural issues and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Review and implement Airworthiness Directives, OEM Service Bulletins, and Service Information Letters.
  • Develop Engineering documentation for inspections, repairs, and modifications, including budget impact analysis.
  • Evaluate maintenance procedures for effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Landing Gear, Wheels/Brakes/Tires:

  • Support the maintenance and repair of landing gear, wheels, brakes, and tires.
  • Perform technical analyses and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures and modifications.

General Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate to ensure seamless integration and communication.
  • Interface with the maintenance organization, fleet engineering, materials, supply chain, IT, and other support teams across the enterprise.
  • Participate in work scope planning, configuration specification, and analytics.
  • Collect data for out-of-limits damage conditions and assist in developing repair solutions.
  • Support the development of Shop Visit Reports and Failure Investigation Reports.
  • Develop repairs/alterations for aircraft components, and prepare engineering data to substantiate the change in accordance with applicable CFRs.
  • Maintains compliance with applicable FAA, DOT, OSHA and EPA regulations, foreign regulatory requirements and Delta's Technical Operations Policy and Procedures (TOPP) and all other engineering processes.
  • Provide status for projects/issues through various briefings and documentation.
  • Prepare and conduct Engineering Working Group meetings.
  • Revise numerous FAA approved Manuals and Engineering Reports.
  • Facilitate collaboration and constant communication with Manufacturers and the FAA ACO and FSDO/CMO.
  • Irregular shift hours may be required, on rare occasion, due to critical requirements.
