Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Reliability Engineer
A Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Reliability Engineer is responsible for the security and reliability of our cloud infrastructure. The role leads patching and vulnerability remediation across Windows, Linux, databases, and Azure services, manages infrastructure operations, ensures resilience through disaster recovery and backup strategies, and provides advanced support for SaaS applications hosted on cloud workloads, networking, and application services. Deep expertise in Azure, strong OS administration skills, and the ability to collaborate across security, DevOps, and IT teams are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead patching and vulnerability remediation across Windows, Linux, databases, and Azure services.
- Manage infrastructure and cloud operations, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost optimization.
- Execute resilience and continuity strategies, including DR setups, failover exercises, and backup/restore operations.
- Provide support for Sphera Cloud product suite, Cloud platform, and underlying technologies.
- Provision and configure Azure resources (VMs, storage, networking, web apps, SQL, etc.).
- Set up new environments for clients and internal projects.
- Manage VNets, subnets, routing, peering, and hybrid connectivity.
- Collaborate with firewall teams for routing and security configuration.
- Handle AD/DNS management within Windows networking.
- Perform encryption migration, certificate renewal, and Key Vault secret updates.
- Troubleshoot Windows and Linux issues, including command-line expertise.
- Support application-related items (web apps, APIs, bootstrap setups).
- Provide mid-level support for SaaS applications hosted on Azure.
- Experience with backup/restore, DR planning, and failover processes.
- Manage database migrations, corruption troubleshooting, and data restoration.
- Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Azure CLI.
- Maintain awareness of pipelines for integration.
- Provide Tier‑3 & Tier‑4 support for cloud workloads and infrastructure incidents.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (DevOps, IT, SaaS Ops, Infosec) to support applications hosted in Azure.
- Drive change management processes and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Resolve customer issues in a professional and prompt manner to maintain high satisfaction.
- Present and communicate effectively on key findings to peers, management, and stakeholders.
- Support customers’ Cloud deployments in 24x7 operational support.
- Develop, implement, support and expand technical documentation of processes and procedures.
Requirements
- Hands‑on experience in patching and vulnerability remediation across Windows, Linux, databases, and cloud services.
- Strong experience in Azure cloud operations (VMs, networking, storage, SQL, web apps, Key Vault, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Hands‑on expertise in Windows Server administration and/or Linux Server administration.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, and Azure CLI for automation.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work within a global cloud operation support team covering 24x7.
- Troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn emerging technologies.
- Adaptable to a dynamic, fast‑moving, and growing environment.
Qualification
- 7–10 years of IT infrastructure experience covering all mandatory requirements.
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ‑104, AZ‑305) strongly preferred.
- Additional certifications in Windows/Linux administration or networking (CCNA, RHCE, etc.) are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage patch cycles and vulnerability remediation at scale.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across security, firewall, DB, SaaS Ops, and application teams.
- Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and related emerging technologies.
- ITIL exposure and understanding.
- Experience in customer‑facing environments with a focus on high quality service.
