POSITION PURPOSE

As a Cloud Engineer, your role is to support the design, build, management, and operation of infrastructure solutions and services. You will help deliver reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure across a range of technologies, including compute, storage, networking, physical and virtual infrastructure, commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) products, open‑source solutions, and cloud services such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

As a Cloud Engineer, your role is to support the design, build, management, and operation of infrastructure solutions and services. You will help deliver reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure across a range of technologies, including compute, storage, networking, physical and virtual infrastructure, commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) products, open‑source solutions, and cloud services such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. You will apply scripting and automation to improve infrastructure operations, contribute to systems design and integration, support problem management and troubleshooting, and ensure that delivered solutions align with security, technical, and business requirements.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop proficiency in scripting tools and software used to design, build, manage, and operate infrastructure solutions and services.
• Use scripting to automate common infrastructure management and operational tasks.
• Build, configure, administer, and support infrastructure technologies and solutions across compute, storage, networking, physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Support infrastructure services spanning open-source, COTS, and cloud-based platforms including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Identify information security risks and apply appropriate controls to mitigate threats within solutions and services.
• Apply the principles of a modern standards approach under guidance and ensure work aligns with relevant standards and practices.
• Take ownership of issues until they are handed over appropriately, mitigated, or resolved.
• Investigate problems in systems, services, and processes, understanding whether they are strategic, tactical, or operational in nature.
• Contribute to the implementation of remedies and preventative measures for recurring issues.
• Take inputs from stakeholders and help establish solutions that support business objectives.
• Translate logical system designs into physical designs and produce detailed design documentation.
• Document work effectively using required standards, methods, tools, and prototyping approaches where appropriate.
• Design systems with managed risk, manageable technical and business complexity, and meaningful impact.
• Work with well-understood technologies and identify reusable patterns.
• Build and test simple interfaces between systems and contribute to more complex integrations as part of a wider team.
• Apply core technical concepts related to the role with guidance and continue developing technical capability.
• Correctly execute test scripts under supervision and incorporate testing into ways of working and delivered solutions.
• Troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities and support their resolution.

WHO YOU ARE

Foundational knowledge of cloud and infrastructure engineering, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud service models such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Foundational knowledge of cloud infrastructure, scripting, automation, networking, storage, virtualization, information security, systems integration, testing, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments, along with strong problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
