Job summary

Kyndryl seeks a GCP Senior SME to lead design, implementation, and governance of cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform. You will partner with architects, delivery teams, and stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud adoption aligned with enterprise strategy.

You will mentor engineers, drive DevOps practices, and advance automation and cloud modernization initiatives across large-scale programs.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of IT experience with 3–5+ years deep GCP expertise.
• Experience in enterprise cloud transformation projects.
• Hands-on with cloud migrations and cloud-native development.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions on GCP.
• Lead GCP deployments, IaC (Terraform/Deployment Manager), and migrations.
• Provide L3 support, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.

The Role

The GCP Senior SME is a senior‑level technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and governing cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role acts as a trusted advisor to architects, delivery teams, and business stakeholders, ensuring scalable, secure, and cost‑effective cloud adoption aligned with enterprise strategy.

1. Cloud Architecture & Engineering

• Design scalable, secure, and high‑performance cloud‑native, hybrid, and multi‑cloud solutions on GCP.
• Define cloud standards, reference architectures, and best practices.
• Lead GCP deployments, Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform), cloud migrations, and ensure HA/DR, scalability, and reliability.

2. Operations, Security & Governance

• Provide L3 support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Establish monitoring, SLAs/SLOs, operational runbooks, and governance frameworks.
• Implement IAM, network security, encryption, and zero‑trust architectures while ensuring audit, regulatory, and compliance adherence.

3. Advisory & Innovation

• Act as a trusted advisor, leading solution reviews, workshops, and stakeholder discussions.
• Support pre‑sales, estimations, and proposal development.
• Drive automation, DevOps, FinOps, adoption of new GCP services, and delivery improvements through reusable frameworks and best practices.

4. Leadership & Capability Development

• Mentor engineers and architects through training, knowledge sharing, and certification programs.
• Define SOPs, playbooks, and documentation standards to strengthen team capabilities and operational excellence.

• Hands‑on with IaC tools (Terraform, Deployment Manager)
• Knowledge of DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, automation)
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and governance
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to lead large‑scale transformation programs
• Experience working in global delivery or consulting environments

Experience
