Job summary

VOIS (Vodafone Intelligent Solutions) seeks a Senior Cloud & DevOps Engineer to optimize cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring and deployment across enterprise environments. The role requires expertise in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and observability platforms.

You will drive incident management, automation, and continuous improvement while collaborating with Agile teams. You will design scalable cloud environments, manage Terraform IaC, and implement CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong experience managing enterprise cloud infrastructure and monitoring solutions.
• Excellent knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including EKS and AKS cluster deployment and management.
• Strong expertise in Terraform and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby.

About this Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud & DevOps Engineer to manage and optimise cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring, deployment, and operational excellence across enterprise environments. The role requires strong expertise in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, ITIL processes, and cloud-native technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end cloud infrastructure operations, platform reliability, incident management, automation, and continuous improvement while collaborating within Agile delivery teams.

What you’ll do

• Independently manage, monitor, and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms.


• Design, implement, and support highly available and scalable cloud environments.


• Configure and manage Kubernetes clusters, including AWS EKS and Azure AKS environments from initial setup through production operations.


• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and related automation tools.


• Implement and support CI/CD/CT pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, and Gradle.


• Manage software deployments and releases across multiple environments.


• Perform monitoring, reporting, logging, and observability using Dynatrace, Instana, Datadog, Grafana, Fluentd, and related tools.


• Analyse logs and infrastructure metrics to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.


• Conduct root cause analysis and coordinate remediation activities for incidents and recurring problems.


• Operate within ITIL frameworks including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Deployment Management.


• Support configuration management processes and maintain deployment standards across environments.


• Manage source code repositories using Git, including branching, tagging, and version control strategies.


• Support containerisation initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes.


• Configure and support Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Cognitive Services, APIM, networking, firewall, and associated GenAI services.


• Work with API management and configuration activities using Apigee.


• Support cloud security, networking, encryption, and platform governance requirements.


• Collaborate with distributed and international teams using Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.


• Contribute to process improvements, operational excellence, and automation initiatives.

Who you are

• Strong experience managing enterprise cloud infrastructure and monitoring solutions.


• Excellent knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, and cloud-native architectures.


• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, including EKS and AKS cluster deployment and management.


• Strong expertise in Terraform and infrastructure automation.


• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.


• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby.


• Experience with Docker and container-based application deployment.


• Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, and logging platforms including Dynatrace, Instana, Datadog, Grafana, and Fluentd.


• Experience with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and Cosmos DB.


• Experience using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, and Gradle.


• Strong knowledge of Git repositories, version control, and branching strategies.


• Working knowledge of networking, security, encryption, and cloud operations.


• Experience with ITSM and ticketing tools such as Remedy and Jira.


• Understanding of Spring and Spring Boot applications.


• Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Cognitive Services, APIM, and related AI services.


• Familiarity with Apigee API management platforms.


• Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery teams.


• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.


• Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certification.


• Knowledge of a broader AWS services portfolio.


• Experience working with multinational and geographically distributed teams.


• Understanding of SDLC and ITIL best practices.


• Experience driving process improvement and innovation initiatives.


• Basic exposure to Azure and GCP cloud platforms.


• Basic understanding of VoIP and telephony fundamentals.
