Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in virtualization, infrastructure engineering, and VDI.
• Strong hands-on experience with Citrix XenServer/Citrix Hypervisor.
• Strong knowledge of CVAD, MCS/PVS, machine catalogs, and delivery groups.
• Experience managing large-scale VDI environments (400+ desktops).
• Proven experience migrating VDI workloads between hypervisors.
• Good understanding of VMware vSphere/ESXi and vCenter.
• Experience with HPE ProLiant servers, iLO, storage, SAN, networking, and VLANs.
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy knowledge.
• Proficiency in PowerShell and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage Citrix XenServer hosts, pools, storage, networking, and high availability.
• Administer XenServer using XenCenter and the xe CLI.
• Configure CVAD with Delivery Controllers, machine catalogs, and PVS/MCS.
• Build golden images and manage the VDA lifecycle.
• Plan VMware-to-XenServer VDI migrations.
• Troubleshoot desktop performance and logon/profile issues.
• Automate tasks with PowerShell and Citrix SDKs.
• Implement security hardening, patching, and lifecycle processes.
• Prepare migration runbooks and handover materials.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Citrix XenServer & VDI Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Citrix XenServer, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), VDI infrastructure, and VMware-to-XenServer migration.

The candidate will be responsible for building and managing Citrix XenServer infrastructure, migrating virtual desktops, optimizing performance, and ensuring minimal disruption to end users.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage Citrix XenServer hosts, resource pools, storage repositories, networking, and high availability.
• Administer XenServer using XenCenter and the xe CLI.
• Configure Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Delivery Controllers, machine catalogs, delivery groups, MCS, and PVS.
• Build and optimize golden images and manage the Citrix VDA lifecycle.
• Plan and execute VMware-to-XenServer VDI migrations.
• Troubleshoot desktop performance, user logon issues, and profile management.
• Automate administration and migration tasks using PowerShell and Citrix SDKs.
• Implement security hardening, patch management, and infrastructure lifecycle processes.
• Prepare migration runbooks, technical documentation, rollback plans, and operational handover materials.

Required Skills and Experience

• 9+ years of experience in virtualization, infrastructure engineering, and VDI.
• Strong hands-on experience with Citrix XenServer/Citrix Hypervisor.
• Strong knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), MCS/PVS, machine catalogs, and delivery groups.
