Job summary

Freudenberg Group is seeking a senior R&D professional with 6–10 years of experience in lubricant chemistry. The role focuses on technical leadership, product development, and collaboration across Production, QA, Marketing, and global teams to deliver innovative lubricant solutions.

The incumbent will manage lab records, conduct experiments, present findings to leadership, and ensure compliance with HSE standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of experience with postgraduate in Chemistry with strong R&D background in lubricant chemistry.
• PhD is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drive chosen segment technically – to become the expert for the addressed segments.
• Drive product development projects for the addressed segments.
• Perform day to day experiments, reporting and documentation.
• Manage R&D lab records and prepare lab reports.
• Present the project results to the leadership team.
• Coordinate with production to scale up R&D batches.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance to finalize product specifications.
• Support Marketing Applications and Sales to enhance new product sales.
• Perform tests related to product development projects.
• Benchmark tests for dedicated segments.
• Maintain laboratory safety practices.
• Maintain R&D test equipment and assets.
• Support Sales and Marketing to create value arguments for existing and new products.
• Ensure compliance to HSE policies.
• Coordinate with stakeholders on handling customer complaints.
• Support Production/Process Engineering to improve first time yield.
• Literature search and documentation for future use.
• Explore local raw material sources and evaluate candidates for cost reduction and import substitution.
• Drive coordination with Product Portfolio Manager, Sales, Marketing, Production, QC, Purchase and global teams in Germany.

Qualifications

6 to 10 years of experience with Postgraduate in Chemistry with strong R&D background in lubricant chemistry PhD is desirable Coordinate with Product Portfolio Manager, Sales, Marketing Application, Production, Quality Control, Purchase and global teams in Germany Manage and develop the personnel and working processes within the department. Ensure that site meets HSE Standards and Directives.
