Job summary

JMT Consultants Detailing Private Limited in Bangalore seeks a Checker with extensive experience to join a growing steel detailing team. You will understand technical specs, study connection designs, raise RFIs for data gaps, identify various member types, and ensure IFC and client standards are met in Tekla modeling.

The role requires strong coordination with internal staff, timely documentation, and accurate checking at every stage to support project delivery.

Qualifications

• Understanding IFC drawings and connection design.
• Ability to clarify and answer modeler/detailer queries.
• Perform model checks at each stage of workflow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Understand the technical/project specifications.
• Study of connection design drawing and raising RFIs if any mismatch/missing data/conflicts arise.
• Identify elements such as FireProof Members, AESS, Galvanized Members, etc.
• Study scope of work and confirm with client.
• Know paint finish, material grade, bolt grade and weld specifications.
• Ensure inputs are current as per Transmittal Index.
• Check 3D model in Tekla as per IFC drawing and client specs.
• Coordinate with internal staff (Modeler/Editor) and prepare RFIs or queries.
• Document and track all RFI queries and responses.
• Ensure all checking comments are incorporated in the model.
• Ensure material grade/AssayPrefix/PartPrefix/Finish/Levels/Thickness/Profiles/Locking dimensions in model per IFC standards.
• Ensure erection feasibility and transportation issues are fixed at modeling stage.
• Ensure clash check performed before release to production.
• Use custom components/macros to reduce quantities in shop drawings.
• Template checking and report preparation per client requirements.
• Check single part drawings, shop drawings, GA drawings, erection drawings with related reports and NC files.
• Model and edit (correction) as required by urgency or project demand.
• Coordinate with Document Controller for uploading/downloading project data and transmittal/index.

Job Responsibilities:

• Understand the technical/project specifications.

• Scope of work to be studied properly and confirmedwith client.

• Ensuring Clash check has been done before releasing to production.

• Ensuring customcomponentor similar macrosarebeingused in model for similar members and its connections to reduce quantities in shop drawings.

• Knowledge in template checking and report preparation with respect to client requirements.

• Checking single part drawings, shop drawings, GA drawings, erection drawings with related reports and NC files.

• Able to do modelling and editing (correction) in case of urgency or project demand.

• Close coordination with Document Controller for uploading/down loadingthe project data and preparation of transmittal/index.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 Years’ experience

• Should have sound knowledge in AISC specification like, ASD, RCSC & NISD

• Knowledge in concrete structures, like slab level/depth, expansion joint, reinforcement, composite steel etc.

• Accurate Interpretation of IFC drawings & connection design

• Clarify and answer modeler/detailer queries

• Perform model checks at each stage of the company workflow procedure

• Understand scope of work before project work begins
