Job summary

Telstra is seeking a Senior Capacity Planner in Bengaluru to lead capacity planning and deployment across 4G/5G RAN, delivering end-to-end services and an outstanding customer experience.

You will work with Ericsson, Nokia and other partners to optimise RF performance, analyse data, and drive network modernisation, while mentoring engineers and contributing to knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Mobile RAN planning, optimisation and performance management.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of 4G/5G RAN architecture and RF principles.

Responsibilities

• Optimize and improve 4G/5G Radio Access Network performance.
• Perform detailed RF and network performance analysis, identifying issues and improvement opportunities.

Focus of the Role

As a Senior Wireless Engineering Specialist, you'll provide deep technical expertise across Mobile Radio Access Networks (RAN), helping optimise network performance and deliver a superior mobile experience for our customers.

You’ll work across 4G and 5G RAN optimisation, RF performance, capacity and network modernisation , using data and engineering insights to identify performance opportunities, resolve complex network issues and support the evolution of Telstra's wireless network.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimise and continuously improve 4G/5G Radio Access Network performance .
• Perform detailed RF and network performance analysis , identifying issues and improvement opportunities.
• Develop optimisation strategies across coverage, capacity, configuration and customer experience.
• Support 5G modernisation, network upgrades, new feature trials and technology rollouts .
• Investigate complex RAN faults, interference and escalated customer-impacting network issues.

• Provide technical leadership, documentation, knowledge sharing and mentoring to other engineers.

• Strong knowledge of 4G/5G RAN architecture, RF principles and network optimisation .
• Proven ability to analyse complex network performance data and translate findings into engineering solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex wireless network environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering teams, vendors and business stakeholders.
• Expert-level RF optimisation knowledge and coding/data analytics capability are highly desirable.
