Job summary

iCOUNTER is seeking a Senior Python Backend Engineer to design and build high-performance, scalable backend systems. You will own core services, APIs, and infrastructure health while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions from concept to production.

You should have strong Python expertise (FastAPI), deep experience with microservices, Postgres, AWS cloud-native architectures, Docker and Kubernetes, and a knack for solving complex problems in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Proven proficiency in Python, including FastAPI.
• Strong knowledge of Postgres, queues, caching, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience designing microservices with REST APIs.
• Experience building distributed, enterprise-grade applications.
• Experience with AWS cloud-native services (ECS, ELB, Lambda, SQS, VPC, EC2, IAM, S3).
• Docker and Kubernetes expertise preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication to technical and business stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with direction.
• Cyber security engineering experience is a plus.

Our expanding engineering team is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Python Backend Engineer. The role involves designing and building high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend systems. Candidates must have deep technical expertise and be proficient with Python frameworks to create robust, scalable solutions. Responsibilities cover developing and maintaining core backend systems, implementing APIs, optimizing performance, and ensuring infrastructure health. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, and deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable enterprise backend components on time, adhering to technical requirements and design specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to select and justify technology choices, supported by thorough research.

Requirements

• Proven proficiency in Python, including experience with the FastAPI framework.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS (Postgres preferred), message queues, caching, and Elasticsearch is required.
• Required experience in designing and building microservices based on REST APIs.
• Experienced in building distributed, scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
• Experience in building scalable, resilient cloud-native applications using preferably AWS services (ECS, ELB, Lambda, SQS, VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, etc.).
• Docker and Kubernetes expertise is preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are mandatory.
• Skilled in communicating technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to accomplish tasks with sufficient direction.
• Experience with cyber security engineering is good to have.
