Job summary

Rvr Innovations in Mumbai, India is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own and advance our backend services. You will design, implement, and scale secure ASP.NET Core Web APIs, working closely with the database team and other engineers.

You will build high-throughput data processing, implement observability, and help set engineering standards. This on-site role reports to the Product Manager/Team Lead and requires strong C#/.NET experience.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of C# / .NET (Core) with ASP.NET Core Web APIs.
• Strong EF Core experience; async and real-time patterns.
• SQL Server / T-SQL knowledge for data access.
• Unit testing with xUnit / Moq; secure, well-tested code.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the platforms ASP.NET Core Web APIs and back-end services.
• Design and own real-time data ingestion and processing services, including secure device/service-to-service authentication (PKI / mutual-TLS).
• Implement data access and background/hosted processing in partnership with the Database Engineer; own API versioning and service-to-service security.
• Implement observability (OpenTelemetry) and secure-coding practices that map to SCF controls audit logging, cryptography, and access control.
• Set backend engineering standards, lead design reviews, and act as Tier II support for backend defects.

Senior Backend Engineer (.NET / C#)

Location: Mumbai, India On-site

Reports to: Product Manager / Solutions Architect (Team Lead)

About the team

Youll join the engineering team building a cloud-hosted enterprise SaaS product for enterprise customers. The platform runs on Microsoft Azure and is built to the Secure Controls Framework (SCF) security and compliance standards, delivered through Azure DevOps with source hosted on GitHub.

The role

You are the senior owner of the backend services the deepest application-engineering seat after the team lead. You build secure, high-throughput services and the APIs that power the products clients, working closely with the Database Engineer, who owns the SQL data tier.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain the platforms ASP.NET Core Web APIs and back-end services.
• Design and own real-time / high-throughput data ingestion and processing services, including secure device/service-to-service authentication (PKI / mutual- TLS).
• Implement data access and background/hosted processing in partnership with the Database Engineer; own API versioning and service-to-service security.
• Implement observability (OpenTelemetry) and secure-coding practices that map to SCF controls audit logging, cryptography, and access control.
• Set backend engineering standards, lead design reviews, and act as Tier II support for backend defects (build/app issues only production is operated by the U.S. team).

Required qualifications

• 6+ years with C# / .NET (Core / current) building ASP.NET Core Web APIs.
• Strong Entity Framework Core; async and real-time patterns (WebSocket / message queues / streaming); PKI / mutual-TLS.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server / T-SQL sufficient to design data access and collaborate with the Database Engineer.
• Unit testing with xUnit / Moq; clean, secure, well-tested code.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with FIPS-validated cryptography or regulated/compliance environments.
• Azure certifications; exposure to IoT / real-time telemetry or device-integration systems.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry / Application Insights.
