Job summary

Axi in Bengaluru seeks a senior engineering leader to set the technical direction for core infrastructure and shape the roadmap for fintech platforms. The role emphasizes architectural decisions, scalability, and compliance across multiple product lines.

You will mentor engineers, oversee incident response and post-incident remediation, and drive standards for interoperability, data flow, security, and observability using C#, .NET Core, React, and modern CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• 15+ years building production software with full-stack work across backend and frontend
• Distributed systems or high-throughput transactional platforms
• Fintech, trading, or mission-critical domains is an advantage
• Strong problem-solving and production support capabilities
• Excellent communication in distributed Agile teams
• Proficiency in C# and .NET Core 6/7/8+ with DI, async/await, REST APIs

Responsibilities:

• Set the technical direction for core infrastructure, making architecture decisions that balance performance, compliance requirements, and scalability across multiple product lines.
• Define engineering standards including service interoperability, data flow design, and how system-level controls are enforced technically.
• Lead evaluation and adoption of new technologies or vendor platforms, making credible decisions supported by technical and commercial analysis.
• Partner with product, compliance, and senior business stakeholders to shape the roadmap translating regulatory and market requirements into engineering priorities.
• Serve as the technical authority on high-severity production incidents, owning post-incident reviews and systemic remediation plans.
• Mentor engineers and raise overall engineering capability across the organization.
• Contribute to external technical credibility through architecture reviews and engagement with key vendor and institutional partners.

Requirements:

• 15+ years building production software with substantial full-stack work across backend services and frontend applications.
• Proven experience in distributed systems or high-throughput transactional platforms.
• Experience in fintech, trading, or other mission-critical domains is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to debug complex systems, and comfort with production support responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in distributed, Agile team environments.
• Proficiency in C# and. NET Core (6/7/8+), including dependency injection, async/await patterns, TPL, and REST API design best practices.
• Strong React experience with hooks, functional components, state management (Redux/Context API), TypeScript, and modern build tooling (Webpack, Vite).
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL Server: indexing, query optimization, transactions) and at least one NoSQL store (Cosmos DB preferred: partitioning, consistency tuning).
• Experience with messaging systems (Azure Service Bus, Event Grid) and event-driven architecture patterns.
• Understanding of containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes/AKS basics: deployments, services, ConfigMaps, secrets, resource limits.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows (Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions), Git-based development, feature toggles, and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with API security (authentication, authorization, JWT, OAuth2) and secure coding practices.
• Knowledge of observability practices: structured logging, distributed tracing (Application Insights, OpenTelemetry), and metric-driven debugging.
