Job summary

Bizacuity Solutions in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the evolution of our gamification platform’s backend. The role emphasizes real-time processing, high throughput, and robust data handling in a fast-paced igaming context.

You will architect and implement event-driven microservices using NodeJS/NestJS, design scalable data pipelines, and drive performance optimizations across distributed systems. Strong leadership and client-facing communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with NodeJS/NestJS.
• Strong experience in real-time, high-concurrency backends.
• Proven expertise in event-driven architectures and messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Pub/Sub).
• Extensive microservices and distributed system design experience.
• Hands-on with MongoDB, Redis, and SQL analytics/OLAP.
• Experience deploying and scaling services in Kubernetes and containers.
• Familiarity with observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
• Excellent English communication and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead scalable backend solutions for real-time processing and high throughput.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and lead the development of scalable backend solutions using NodeJS and NestJS, with a heavy emphasis on real-time processing, high-concurrency, and bulk data ingestion.
• Champion and implement event-driven and microservice architectures, utilizing technologies like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Redis Streams for reliable asynchronous communication.
• Own the design and performance tuning of data pipelines that handle large volumes of real-time data, including aggregation, normalization, and storage in systems like MongoDB, Redis, or SQL/OLAP solutions.
• Guide architectural decisions related to service orchestration, message queues, state management, and data consistency across distributed systems.
• Conduct high-level code and system reviews, coach engineers, and lead architectural discussions with a long-term strategic mindset.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps, frontend, QA, and product teams to ensure end-to-end system resilience, observability, and rapid iteration via CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Act as a technical point of contact in conversations with clients and stakeholders, especially around scalability, data throughput, and real-time system health.
• Stay up-to-date on modern backend technologies, architectural patterns, and best practices.
• Bring innovations to the table that improve performance, reliability, and developer experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, including strong mastery of NodeJS and ideally NestJS.
• Proven experience with real-time systems, high-concurrency environments, or low latency backends - ideally processing thousands of events per second.
• Deep knowledge of event-driven architectures, with production use of RabbitMQ, Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar systems.
• Strong background in designing and optimizing microservices and distributed systems.
• Expertise in data handling with MongoDB, Redis, and optionally SQL for analytics or OLAP/BigQuery processing.
• Hands-on experience deploying and scaling services in Containerized environments with Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and practices for monitoring distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
• Comfortable leading initiatives, mentoring peers, and working closely with clients and business stakeholders.
