Kavana is building AI Humans and real-time, AI-driven conversational experiences. You will join a small, fast team shipping production features that millions can use, owning APIs, data pipelines, and reliability across environments.

We are looking for 2–4 years of Django API experience, with hands-on work in Celery, Kafka, Redis, and PostgreSQL. You will also integrate payment gateways and monitor production systems, collaborating closely with product and design to move fast.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience building scalable REST APIs with Python/Django.
• Hands-on with Celery + Redis for background jobs and scheduling.
• Experience with Kafka (consumers/partitions) and AWS SQS.
• Strong PostgreSQL database design and indexing; MongoDB knowledge is a plus.
• Experience integrating payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Razorpay).
• Solid understanding of testing, code reviews, and production monitoring.

Responsabilités

• Build and scale REST/WebSocket APIs in Django for real-time AI-powered interactions.
• Orchestrate async workloads with Celery, Redis, and task retries/metrics.
• Design streaming/event-driven flows with Kafka; use AWS SQS as needed.
• Integrate and harden payment gateways, including webhooks and ledgers.
• Write tests, docs, and dashboards; monitor SLOs and latency in prod/stage.
• Collaborate with product/design to scope, iterate, and ship features quickly.

What you’ll do

• Build and scale REST/WebSocket APIs in Django for real-time, AI-poweredinteractions.
• Orchestrate async workloads with Celery, Redis (as broker/cache), and taskretries/metrics.
• Design streaming and event-driven flows with Kafka; integrate queues with AWS SQSwhere appropriate.
• Integrate and harden payment gateways (e.g., Stripe/Razorpay/PhonePe), includingwebhooks, ledgers, and idempotency.
• Write tests, docs, and dashboards; monitor staging/production SLOs, latency, andcost.
• Collaborate with product/design to scope, iterate, and ship fast.

What You’ve done

• Built and scaled REST/WebSocket APIs in Django for real-time, AI-poweredinteractions.
• 2-4 years building scalable REST APIs with Python/Django; working knowledge ofNode.js is a plus.
• Practical experience with Celery + Redis for background jobs and scheduled tasks.
• Hands-on with Kafka (consumers, partitions, offsets) and AWS SQS (DLQs, visibilitytimeouts).
• Comfortable with PostgreSQL (schema design, indexes, migrations) and MongoDB(schema design, TTLs).
• Implemented at least one payment gateway end-to-end (checkout flows, webhookverification, refunds).
• Worked with BigQuery for analytics/EL T; can design tables and write performant SQL.
• Solid grasp of WebSockets for real-time features.
• Exposure to LLM/AI systems and AWS or GCP services; strong fundamentals insystem design.
• Habitual about tests, code reviews, and production monitoring.
• Feature flags/experimentation.
