Job description

We are seeking a Senior AWS Migration Engineer to participate in a large-scale server migration project moving servers and containers from on-premises to AWS across various global regions. This role is pivotal within our Cloud Migrations Office and contributes to our broader cloud acceleration program, structured under the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodology.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of migration plans in line with the SAFe framework, coordinating closely with the Lead Migration Engineer, AWS, customers and internal teams.
• Assist in crafting and testing migration runbooks, handling pre‑migration tool preparations and conducting rigorous testing of infrastructure and applications.
• Engage in AWS EKS setups and re‑platforming efforts under the guidance of the Lead Engineer.
• Help manage critical migration phases, including cutover processes and the hyper‑care phase post‑migration.
• Implement and adhere to AWS best practices for cloud optimization.
• Maintain thorough documentation and actively participate in troubleshooting activities.

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of overall IT industry experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in server migration, with technical leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Background in cloud architecture, particularly in AWS environments and migrations.
• Proficiency in key AWS services like EC2, RDS and EKS.
• Familiarity with DRS, AWS Migration Hub and IAM.
• Expertise in AWS tools for system monitoring, scripting and cost management.
• Understanding of the SAFe agile framework, with skills in managing tasks within Program Increments.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, robust organizational capabilities and effective communication skills.
