Position Overview
Cloud Migration Architect should emphasize both strategic leadership and hands-on expertise in migrating enterprise workloads to cloud platforms, typically AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
This role leads the design, planning, and execution of migrating on-premises applications, databases, and infrastructure to cloud services. It works with cross-functional technical and business teams to ensure secure, efficient, and high-performing transitions aligned with organizational goals.
Requirements
- Expertise in designing and deploying solutions with different cloud providers primarily AWS, Azure, and GCP for On-Prem to Cloud migrations.
- Experience with discovery, assessment, planning, and execution of large migrations using assessment, migration, and automation tools for Data Centers components (IAAS, PAAS, SAAS).
- Exposure to Azure and GCP architecture.
- Cloud certifications (mandatory any one of the following): AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Professional/Specialty certifications, Microsoft Azure Administrator - Associate.
Responsibilities
- Good knowledge of cloud fundamentals and exposure to different clouds.
- 8+ years of experience on cloud technologies.
- Strong in cloud design, deployment and architecture.
- Experience with cloud native and third-party migration tools.
- Experience in migration projects from on-premise to AWS with Azure or GCP as a plus.
- Managed projects end-to-end from migration strategy, assessment, solution design, architecture, planning and execution.
- Prior experience in data-center exit projects or DC consolidation projects.
- Completed at least 4–5 large migration projects (1500+ VMs and above).
- Familiarity with hyperscaler programs on large migrations - AWS MAP, Azure AMPP.
- Experience with AWS-MAP/Azure MMP large migration projects, full-cycle delivery from assessment to mobilization to migration phase (2–3 projects).
- Migrated various on-premise resources/services (infrastructure, application, database, etc.) to different cloud providers.
- Migrated physical servers/VMs/VDI/storage/Active Directory/firewall, etc. to AWS cloud.
- Planned strategies and executed for backup, disaster recovery, compliance and security.
- Managed multiple priorities and commitments, created and followed SOP, run books and process documents.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies and vendors (e.g., VMWare, VMC on AWS).
