Role Overview

Senior Avionics Software Developer – responsible for developing safety‑critical real‑time embedded software for avionics applications in accordance with DO‑178C. The role requires technical leadership, architectural design, and mentoring of junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead requirement engineering activity (gather, analyze, and document software requirements).
• Understand and contribute to the global software architecture (static & dynamic).
• Develop high‑level and low‑level design (HOOD, class definition, UML diagrams).
• Perform coding, debugging, and build generation efficiently.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and verification teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Troubleshoot issues reported by system testing.
• Act as mentor and groom junior team members.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners.

Required Skill & Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in the complete avionics software lifecycle (requirements, design, coding, unit verification).
• Hands‑on experience with embedded software requirements engineering and architecture (static and dynamic).
• Design and development of algorithms, interfaces, schedulers, abstractions, and modularization.
• Embedded programming in C, C++, or Ada.
• Unit testing and configuration/change management.
• Experience with RTOS and DO‑178 standards.
• Working with global, multisite teams to resolve complex issues.
• Knowledge of requirements, design, and coding standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Good to Have Skills

• Experience with A653‑compliant RTOS.
• Project management skills.
• Exposure to certification audits.
• Familiarity with various software development life‑cycle methodologies.
• Experience with avionics communication protocols (A429, CAN, AFDX).
• Knowledge of avionics systems and networks.
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and customers.
