Overview

Software Methods and Quality Engineer in the Avionics Software department of Airbus India, responsible for ensuring critical systems meet certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance and quality controls—technical sampling of avionics software deliverables—in compliance with DO‑178B/ED‑12 objectives.
• Provide technical support for process, methods, and tools of Avionics Software teams.
• Handle EASA certification of Avionics Software.
• Lead continuous improvement of processes.

Main Activities

• Ensure efficiency and adequacy of development methods to comply with certification objectives.
• Support development teams in methods and tools usage.
• Propose improvements.
• Verify consistency, completeness and accuracy of quality documents.
• Maintain and update the Plan for Software Aspects of Certification (PSAC).
• Ensure conformity of the Software Quality Assurance Plan (SQAP); manage applicable rules for software projects.
• Perform internal reviews to prepare external reviews by EASA.
• Verify correctness of methods and rules application by performing quality control of documents, source code files, test files and other life‑cycle data, either by sampling or exhaustively in compliance with the SQAP.
• Approve software documents in compliance with applicable plans and certification rules.
• Perform root‑cause analysis for software anomalies to improve development methods.
• Ensure consistency, completeness and accuracy of certification records.
• Approve project documents in compliance with applicable plans.
• Verify configuration management of product life‑cycle data.
