Job summary

Ashish Shah & Associates in Mumbai is seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant with hands-on statutory audit experience to join our team at the Andheri office. The ideal candidate will lead audits end-to-end for manufacturing, service, and pharma clients and will take ownership of delivery, timelines, and quality.

You will review financial statements, perform risk assessment, supervise junior staff, ensure compliance with Ind AS/AS, Companies Act 2013, and CARO reporting, and travel to client

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 2+ years PQE in statutory audit.
• Experience auditing manufacturing, service, or pharma clients preferred.
• Proficient in Ind AS/AS, Companies Act, 2013, and CARO reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (Tally/SAP).

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and finalize statutory audits for clients in manufacturing, service, and pharma sectors
• Review financial statements for compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS/AS), Companies Act, 2013, and other statutory requirements
• Conduct risk assessment and design audit programs accordingly
• Verify books of accounts, vouch transactions, and test internal controls
• Review inventory verification and costing records (specific to manufacturing/pharma clients)
• Prepare and review audit working papers, schedules, and documentation
• Draft audit reports, CARO reporting, and management letters
• Liaise with client teams to resolve audit queries and obtain necessary information
• Ensure timely completion of audits within budgeted hours and deadlines
• Guide and review work of article assistants/junior team members
• Stay updated with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and audit regulations

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) — mandatory
• Minimum 2+ years of post-qualification experience in statutory audit
• Prior experience auditing manufacturing, service, or pharma companies strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of Ind AS/AS, Companies Act, 2013, and CARO reporting
• Proficiency in Tally, SAP, or other ERP systems
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and audit tools
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple audit assignments and meet deadlines
• Willingness to travel to client locations as required
