About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Associate - Litigation with strong expertise in civil and commercial litigation, particularly across the Construction, Infrastructure, Engineering and Real Estate sectors.

The role involves independently managing litigation matters end-to-end, representing clients before courts and tribunals, advising on legal risks and disputes, and developing effective litigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently handle end-to-end civil and commercial litigation matters.
• Draft and review pleadings, petitions, written statements, applications, affidavits, legal notices, and written submissions.
• Appear and represent clients before High Courts, District Courts, Tribunals and other judicial forums.
• Handle disputes relating to construction, infrastructure, engineering contracts and real estate projects.
• Manage contractual disputes, property disputes, recovery matters and other commercial claims.
• Handle debt and money recovery matters, including outstanding dues, contractual payments, loans and invoices.
• Manage matters relating to injunctions, specific performance, breach of contract and enforcement of contractual rights.
• Assist with proceedings under applicable recovery and insolvency laws, wherever relevant.
• Conduct detailed legal research and develop litigation strategies based on applicable laws, regulations and judicial precedents.
• Review commercial agreements and documentation from a litigation and risk-management perspective.
• Advise clients on potential disputes, legal exposure, recovery strategies and dispute resolution approaches.
• Coordinate with clients, external counsel, experts and other stakeholders for case management and litigation strategy.
• Monitor hearings, filings, deadlines and case developments.
• Prepare legal opinions, case summaries, status reports and strategic updates.
• Mentor junior associates and review their legal drafting and research work.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of post-qualification experience in civil and commercial litigation.
• Strong hands-on experience in construction, infrastructure, and commercial disputes.
• Exposure to real estate and property-related litigation will be relevant.
• Demonstrated experience independently handling litigation before courts and tribunals.
• Strong expertise in legal research, analysis, interpretation, and litigation strategy.
• Excellent drafting skills with experience preparing pleadings, petitions, applications, legal notices, written statements and affidavits.
• Strong understanding of CPC, Contract Law, Specific Relief Act, Limitation Act and other relevant civil and commercial laws.
• Ability to provide legal advice and manage matters with minimal supervision.
• Strong client-handling and stakeholder-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters and meet strict deadlines.
• Prior experience with a law firm, litigation practice, or dispute resolution team is preferred.
