Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a highly analytical Financial Modeling professional at the Senior Associate or Manager level in Gurugram, India. You will develop, review, and manage complex financial models to support performance improvement engagements and strategic decisions.

Ideal candidates bring strong Excel modeling skills, financial acumen, and the ability to translate business drivers into robust models while collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or related field.
• MBA, CA, CFA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• 3-8 years of experience in financial modeling, value modelling, valuation, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate finance, consulting, private equity, or related areas.
• Knowledge of FP&A, PTP, OTC, RTR is an advantage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models including three-statement models, 13-week cashflow, and value modelling.
• Perform analyses to identify key value drivers and conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses.
• Present outputs and insights to senior management and clients; translate financial information into actionable recommendations.

How you will contribute

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Modeling professional at the Senior Associate or Manager level to develop, review, and manage complex financial models that support performance improvement engagements, strategic decision-making, and business planning. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, advanced Excel modeling skills, and the ability to translate business drivers into robust and insightful financial models.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Modeling & Analysis

• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models including:
• Three-statement integrated financial models
• 13-week cashflow model
• Performance improvement value modelling
• Budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis models
• Build dynamic and scalable models to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and value modeling.
• Conduct sensitivity, scenario, and risk analyses to assess business performance under multiple assumptions.
• Perform financial statement analysis and identify key value drivers.

2. Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with finance, strategy, investment, and business teams to gather input and validate assumptions.
• Present model outputs, insights, and recommendations to senior management and clients.
• Translate complex financial information into actionable business insights.

3. Quality & Governance

• Conduct model reviews, audits, and validation procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with modeling best practices.
• Establish documentation standards and model governance processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and standardization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• MBA, CA, CFA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• 3-8 years of experience in financial modeling, value modelling, valuation, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate finance, consulting, private equity, or related areas.
• Knowledge of other financial processes such as FP&A, PTP, OTC, and RTR is an advantage
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling expertise.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts, corporate finance principles, valuation methodologies, forecasting and budgeting techniques
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, VBA, Python, Alteryx, or other analytical tools is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
