Job summary

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a highly experienced Senior Associate to serve as a Subject Matter Expert in core accounting functions and US GAAP compliance. The role covers AP, AR, GL, and financial reporting, with advanced MS Excel skills to manage complex workflows and document processes.

You will independently drive month-end close, maintain SOPs, and collaborate with stakeholders and senior management to ensure accurate financial statements and smooth vendor/customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 7 to 10 years of direct experience in core accounting and finance operations.
• Advanced MS Excel skills required.
• Deep knowledge of AP, AR, GL, GAAP and month-end close procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end AP, AR, and GL operations and drive month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Act as SME on GAAP compliance to ensure accuracy across financial workflows and reconciliations.
• Address and resolve complex vendor and customer inquiries with minimal supervision.
• Own the creation, maintenance, and updating of SOPs and process documentation for all activities.

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Associate to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in core accounting functions and US GAAP compliance. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across AP, AR, GL, and financial reporting, alongside advanced MS Excel skills, to independently manage complex workflows, maintain process documentation, and streamline vendor/customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting & Financial Reporting: Oversee end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) operations, driving accurate month-end close activities and financial statement preparation.
• GAAP Expertise: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on accounting principles and GAAP compliance to ensure accuracy across all financial workflows and reconciliations.
• Query Resolution: Independently address, troubleshoot, and resolve complex customer and vendor inquiries with minimal supervision.
• Process Documentation: Own the end-to-end creation, maintenance, and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comprehensive process documentation for all assigned operational activities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Utilize exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders, senior management, and external contacts.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (MBA, M.Com, B.Com, or equivalent). Additional professional certifications/degrees are a strong advantage.
• Experience: 7 to 10 years of direct, relevant experience in core accounting and finance operations.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, financial analysis) is mandatory.
• Domain Knowledge: Deep, working knowledge of AP, AR, GL, GAAP accounting standards, and full-cycle month-end close procedures.
• Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to lead initiatives and influence cross-functional teams
