Qualifications

  • Background in GL accounting and US GAAP; AP background not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, allocations, and schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Lead month-end close for large clients (MRR > $7K) and review month-end close for small and mid-size clients.
  • Oversee complex accounting processes including deferred revenue, fixed assets, intercompany reconciliations, sales tax, and FSA reconciliations.
  • Review bank, credit card, clearing accounts, payroll, AP/AR aging, 941 reconciliations, and 1099 reports.
  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and planning inputs (including Jirav) with complete documentation.
  • Manage fiscal year close activities including audit, tax schedules, annual entries, and close checklists.
  • Coordinate and oversee audit and tax preparation timelines, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Prepare and review audit and tax schedules and support auditors with required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Maintain and update all close-related trackers (month-end, audit, fiscal close, 1099).
  • Take ownership of assigned clients, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Handle routine client requests and ensure all client queries are acknowledged and resolved within the defined turnaround time.
  • Prepare for and lead client meetings, including agendas, financial reviews, and follow-up documentation.
  • Communicate proactively with clients and internal stakeholders, highlighting risks, issues, and progress clearly.
  • Support Managers in client management, process design, and service monitoring.
  • Supervise daily work planning, delegate tasks, and resolve bottlenecks to ensure timely completion.
  • Review team output, resolve routine queries, and provide technical guidance.
  • Assist the team in meeting quality and productivity standards.
  • Review, update, and maintain SOPs to ensure processes are current, accurate, and accessible.
  • Implement approved improvements to accounting systems and workflows.
  • Recommend process enhancements and share feedback with the AOM to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Proactively identify and resolve accounting, system, and workflow issues.
  • Escalate unresolved or high-risk issues to the AOM with clear context and recommendations.
  • Conduct training for new and existing staff on updated procedures, systems, and best practices.
  • Support team development through ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Preferred candidate profile: nonprofit accounting principles advantageous; strong in GL/US GAAP; attention to detail; hybrid work readiness.

The Senior Associate plays a pivotal role in client financial management, ensuring compliance and accuracy in deliverables, and optimizing processes. Senior Associate Roles & Responsibilities

Financial Management & Accounting Leadership

  • Experience of nonprofit accounting principles will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, MBA or CA inter preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software. (Preferred Xero)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong background in GL accounting and experience working with US GAAP. AP background not required.
