Job summary

Baker Tilly in Bengaluru, India is seeking an experienced Accounting Transition Specialist to execute onboarding for new clients, review current accounting processes, and support data migration and chart of accounts mapping. The role demands 5+ years in managed services or outsourced accounting, strong knowledge of month-end close, GL, AP/AR, and proficiency with QuickBooks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in managed services, outsourced accounting, or finance operations.
• Experience supporting client transition and onboarding within a managed services or outsourced accounting model.

Responsibilities

• Execute accounting transition and onboarding activities for new AFS clients, focused on speed, accuracy, quality, and consistency.
• Review current-state accounting processes, opening balances, chart of accounts, close activities, reconciliations, reporting requirements, and key operational dependencies.
• Support accounting data migration and conversion activities, including chart of accounts mapping, opening balance validation, and reconciliation of migrated data.
• Establish client accounting routines, close calendars, recurring activities, reporting requirements, and transition documentation aligned with defined playbooks.
• Support transition testing, accounting readiness validation, issue resolution, and go-live preparation.
• Apply standard accounting practices across general ledger, journal entries, accruals, month-end close, reconciliations, AP, AR, cash, and financial reporting.
• Establish and document repeatable client accounting processes, SOPs, close calendars, reconciliation standards, and reporting deliverables.
• Validate accounting operational readiness and ensure transition gaps, exceptions, and unresolved items are documented and escalated.
• Operate across QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, and support accounting system setup, data migration, and chart of accounts mapping.
• Partner with US transition and managed services teams to resolve dependencies and ensure successful onboarding and handoff to steady-state delivery.
